How do you store or display your hairsticks?
Oct 25th, 2006 at 8:41pm

I was so impressed with the photo of Bikerbraid's cone tree on the Collections Chat thread, that I decided to bring the question down here for everyone.  I keep mine on my dresser in a short vase, but I am hoping Santa will bring me one of the display boxes (and maybe a new pair of sticks).  So, how do you store or display your hairsticks?

I have a crocheted hanger for my hairsticks, claws, and barrettes.  I found the directions at the Long Hair Loom and made one.   It is shaped like an old-fashioned bell pull, although it isn't nearly as fancy, except for the hairtoys on it. Shocked
It hangs in the bathroom next to the mirror.  Handy in the morning when I am getting ready for work. Cheesy

I think if I ever got some of Susan's hairsticks I'd put them in a safer place. Wink

My hairtoy collection occupies two shelves of a cupboard. Roll Eyes I keep my hairsticks in jewelry rolls and other toys in baskets, little boxes etc. This storage method is not that good though and I'm only using it because I haven't had time to shop a good combing table for my toys. I'm also seriously thinking of buying a glass cabinet where I could put some of my LL hairsticks to display. They would totally deserve it.

I have one of the cases Susan sells along with an extra tray.  I confess there are too many sticks, forks and crocheted bun holders so I also have a little vase that my boyfriend made with decopage.  So a few are in there, none of Susan's though.  They're special and are in the case for safe keeping! Yippee!  Look at the display case my son-in-law made for me.  I asked for one from here, but I absolutely love that he made it, especially with the engraved Bible verse.  That made it a really personal gift.  It has two trays and will hold more than 20 pair of sticks. ...

Since you can't read the verse in my small photo, it says "And even the very hairs on your head are all numbered." above the glass and "Matthew 10:30" below.  My daughter did the calligraphy burnt into the case.

What a wonderful gift!  My hairsticks are mostly in jewelry rolls inside a rubbermaid type unit of 3 slide out drawers.  I think there's a pic of it around here somewhere...I have the color of the sticks/beads grouped coordinating with the color of the rolls and then the rainbow divided so I have all 3 drawers full...I have a case that I got from a special Nordstroms event holding my rhinestone and Indonesian hair ornaments.  I have a Bed, Bath & beyond plastic tote with my clips and plastic holders sitting on the shelf above the bathtub.  I have amish hairpins scattered just about everywhere...
