Sad

I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever buy a new pair of hairsticks again.  Everytime new designs are posted, they're gone before I log on.  This is frustrating to me, since I check my email every morning first thing after I wake up.  I know it sounds silly, but I could never in good conscience order a custom design.  Our budget really doesn't allow for it, so I'd never make that kind of a well-thought out purchase.  However, I've often thought that if that pair was available, I'd buy it right now!  You know...impulse shopping.  I suppose this is really a blessing (to by checkbook) in disguise, but I am still really, really sad.   Cry

At least I'm not sobbing.  Nearly everything makes me cry these days.

I'm so sorry this is frustrating you.  Are you on the email list that alerts you to when new designs are posted?

Yes--That's what upsets me.  I know they're there.  Sad  Maybe I need to cancel the email notifications.

I know it can be frustrating.  It might help you (or not) to know that Susan usually posts her new designs late at night.  She is a night owl.  More than once I have found her on the site when I first get up in the morning - but she is just going to bed.  (And only 1 time zone separates us!  Grin  I admit I'm a very early morning person. )

As you may have heard, Susan had a bit of a medical emergency a few weeks ago, so the site sold out while she was recovering.  This will result in new sticks selling out fast for a while.  Hang in there, there will be more coming.

I was wondering why there were less hairsticks posted for a while, and was afraid that Susan isn't well. I'm glad to hear she is getting better.

Scrap Girl I know exactly how you feel, but have faith. Because of the time difference, it often happens that Susan posts new designs when it's over midnight here and when I open my computer in the morning, everything has sold out. BUT, I have still managed to build my collection without ever ordering a custom pair from her (for one thing, I couldn't wait that long to get a pair!). She doesn't always post hairsticks at the same time though, and sometimes I have been among the first people to see new designs. It is true that there isn't a lot time to think about whether to buy a pair or not. But that's really not a problem as every pair is beautiful IRL.
I have missed a few gorgeous pairs during my collector career, but Susan is really creative and continues to produce breathtaking designs in such a speed that these pairs have been a minority. Be patient- I'm sure that you'll get to build a beautiful collection too.

Thanks, gals.  Your words are encouraging and I'm feeling better today.  Smiley  I know I got the two pair I have somehow, and I just need to be patient.  I was even contemplating this morning that I need a storage tray for my dresser...I'm tired of misplacing my sticks.

Thanks!

Happy Dance!!!

Susan posted the new Rapunzel sticks just as I was sitting at my computer, and I wanted a pair of long sticks, too, so now I have a beautiful new pair of Long Locks sticks on their way to me!!  It took a little bit of convincing to get hubby to believe that yes, we actually do have extra money in the grocery budget this week  Embarrassed and now I owe him big, but whatever it takes, right?   Wink

Yay...now I'm feeling MUCH better, lol.

Midnight Blossoms.  I was so shocked...when I looked, every pair was still available.  So I (almost) got the one I really wanted.  My first choice was shot down by hubby, who thought it was too expensive.   Tongue  I don't remember the name now, but it was the last one on the page.

You selected a very pretty pair of sticks.  I'm sure you will enjoy wearing them and receive many compliments on them.

Just a passing thought .... Smiley

It's probably come up before (?), apols if it has, but has Susan ever felt she wanted to set up say some annual holiday classes to pass on her much sought after artistry and knowledge ? Give her a break as much as anything else I would have thought !

Also I'm sure there'd be no shortage of pupils ! Smiley

Susan keeps her "trade secrets" very secret.  She won't even share her supplier sources with me.  This is what makes her sticks so special.
