Natural Lipstick
Feb 19th, 2007 at 10:02pm

Hello Everyone!  I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a good all natural lipstick.  I do not like to wear a lot of makeup, but I like wearing lipstick to brighten up my face.  I generally buy warm shades.  I am trying to get away from alot of the name brand lipsticks that have a lot of ingredients in them that are no good for you.  I have tried Burts Bees lip shimmers and I have to say that I do like them.  They feel really good when you put them on.  Nice and smooth.  The only problem is that some of the colors are too dark, or come off really orange.  I'm thinking this may be a trend with all lipsticks that are natural, but I'm not really sure.  I guess I am trying to find a shade with a cross between a red and brown, or even a neutral color similar to your lips natural color( if that makes sense).  I just want it to be a little more subtle instead of making feel like a clown.  Also if there are any suggestions for a natural eye shadow that would be great too.  Thanks!Smiley

I like Burt's Bees lip balms.  I wear no makeup, but I do like a touch of color on my lips and I need to protect them when I'm biking.

You may want to stop by this site and do some comparisons:  http://www.ewg.org/shopping/
I don't wear make up either but, like you, do enjoy wearing lip colour on occasion.  I chose Almay brand, their Ideal line.  Good luck in your search!   Smiley

Thanks Trisha for that website.  It has a lot of interesting information it.Smiley

Hi Bikerbraid!  I really like Burts Bees lip balm too.  It feels really good.  I love the peppermint tingle.  I have also been using lip balms from Chagrin Valley Soaps and Crafts and they are really great too.  The aloe butter is my favorite.  It goes on very smooth and leaves a nice shine.Smiley
