Cool New Bird Feeder
Mar 6th, 2007 at 2:44pm

...

I purchased this bird feeder about 2 weeks ago and put it outside my bedroom window (its held on with suction cups).  This morning I pleasantly awoke to the sight of a bird feeding outside my window, it was so nice!  Unfortunately, my cat noticed the bird too, running to the window and scaring it away. Before I'd even gotten out of bed, yet another bird showed up, but again my over zealous cat scared that one away as well. The morning visions were wonderful while they lasted though.  I just need to get a bird book so that next time, I will be able to identify my visitors when they show up.

They even sell a feeder that has a one way mirror attatched so that the birds can't see that anyone is looking at it.  I didn't purchase it because the view isn't so clear on the inside but having cats, I may need to buy that one after all.

Heres a link in case anyone is interested in purchasing one, they're very inexpensive.

What a great picture of a male cardinal!  We've had lots of cardinals at our feeders lately as well (heavy snows always bring lots of birds to our feeders).  Have you heard their song as well?  This is the time of year the male cardinals start announcing their territories with their songs.

Cardinals are skittish, so your cat may cause them to not return.  The mirror might help though.  Good luck and enjoy your new friends.

Oh, I'm sorry no, I didn't take that picture.  That is a picture of the advertisement.  It isn't snowy here at all thank goodness.  It's a very beautiful spring-like day.

That's good to know about the Cardnals though. Smiley

I like cardinals, too, but a different kind. (The 2006 World Series winner kind).

Anyway, I'm surprised a bird would get that close to a window. My neighbor puts his feeders further out and gets everything, including hummingbirds.
