Introduction

Hi:  I'm new here.  I'm a 45 year old woman.  I clearly look better with short hair than long, but I'm going to grow it out anyway!  I love long hair, and I always have.

The problem I've had in growing out my hair in the past is that I have a nervous habit of picking at and biting my hair - like a nail biter but with hair.  Naturally this is hard on hair.  I'm trying to follow the instruction on the site to treat my hair like antique lace.  We'll see how it works.

The other thing that makes me hesitate is that my hair is graying (it's about half and half now - more gray on top).

How long is your hair? short and layered, not even to my shoulders
What color is your hair?  gray and very dark brown
Is your hair straight/curly/wavy?  wavy
Do you have favorite products to use on your hair? no
What are your favorite hair accessories? none

Thanks, Trisha.  In reading through the posts, I realized I'm not the only "old lady" who wants to wear her hair long.  That's one thing that's given me the nerve to try and grow my hair long.

LOL!  No you are not the only person "of age" that has chosen to grow out their hair - AND to allow those special grey/silver strands of maturity show thru!  Grin

Welcome to our little corner of the internet.  I look forward to getting to know you better.

This reminded me of those framed pictures you sometimes see on the 'Net with all sorts of hair styles and lengths around a hole in the middle, where you put your face to see how you felt about each one.

I’ve never seen it done anywhere else, so it could be interesting (if it's possible ?) to have one showing all lengths of hair and colours on Long Locks Salon as well .....?   Cool

Hey there, Costello

You'd probably look just fine with long hair if it was healthy. There are tons of styles that you can create with long hair - at least one of them should flatter you.  Wink

Your hair sounds very pretty, actually. I have coveted dark hair all my life. You'll find a wealth of information here, so explore all you'd like. Best of luck overcoming your obstacles and growing a gorgeous mane. Welcome aboard.  Smiley
