What a silver long haired stunner she was !
Apr 21st, 2007 at 4:56pm

I never dreamed I’d ever post anything about this ahem - unknown area before as I’ve no idea about ladies’ dresswear at all, but the wonderful sighting I had yesterday was just so memorable and is still so stuck in my mind I’ve just got to pass it on ! In fact I had to quickly jot it all down afterwards in case I forgot ! (So apologies for any clumsy descriptions  Embarrassed !)

Supermarket day yesterday as usual when I noticed a tall 6 foot’ish slim lady possibly in her late fifties, early sixties with long quite thick, centre parted, silver grey hair hanging loosely down to her waist. Nothing unusual these days really but something kept niggling in my mind afterwards and annoyingly wouldn’t go away as I finished loading up the shopping into the car. So I just had to go back and have another much closer look !

It was her clothing etc. that must have caught my eye as she wore a long black loose billowing dress that reached right down to open toed, low heeled shiny silver sandals. Then a white very billowy long sleeved shirt with (pleated ?) folds in it, topped finally by a black short sleeve cardigan (?) with large silver buttons running down the centre. But it was the amazing jewelry she wore that was so eyecatching as it was all heavy, swingy, shiny and very silvery coloured indeed.

A long chainlink belt was fastened round her waist over her long billowing black dress made of thick heavy silver hoops about 2 inches in diameter with the end dangling down to the top of her thighs, and all swinging and swirling very fetchingly around as she walked. Two small circular silver disc ear rings hung down an inch or so from each ear which also swung gracefully around whenever she turned her head, combined with a couple of silver bracelets on her left wrist and rings on her fingers that were always very noticeable whenever she pushed her hair back out of her eyes. Finally a small long silver chain with a very large silver encased blue stone set into it at the end hung loosely around her neck.

There might have been other smaller things but the overall effect was simply stunning as I’d never seen anything like it ! Especially when at the last minute she realised she must have forgotten something and quickly had to leave the queue as all I can remember is a riot of silver, black and white billowing movement that all seemed to be flowing everywhere at once.

And then with her long silver hair fanning and rippling out behind her……..ooooh !!!!  Shocked

Thing is Ladies I have now fallen for this whole dream so much that I would dearly love to see it all again in a picture.... somehow, sometime ! So is there a faint chance that some lovely, kind long silver haired lady will one day take pity on me and hopefully dress up in similar fashion some time ? Hopefully posing romantically in various idyllic surroundings and eventually posting some incognito pics of themselves ?

Perchance to dream and dream and.... Smiley

Oooooh - that must have been quite the sight!  Your description is fantastic.  (Hey - maybe we can get Sir Rat to draw it up for us?? Wink).

Anyone that is lucky enough to grey to that lovely white/silver color is sooooo lucky.  The black/white constrast is so striking.  It sounds like the lady you spotted knew how to excentuate the contrasts to create a stunning visual.

Thanks for sharing.

I'll do my best, Arcadian.  Can't do much about the 6 foot part, I'm 5'5" and at 42 not likely to grow any taller!  The slim thing I would love to achieve, but it will take me awhile.  My hair is slightly less than BSL, so it will take awhile as well.  I am lucky enough to have that sparkling, silver-white hair though, at least in front.

However, in places it mixes with some hair that is still dark.  I had a real problem with yellowing, so I used lemon juice and vinegar to remove the deposits so the white wouldn't be this yellowish-green.  But that bleached the dark hair, so I still have this yellowish color in places.  I cannot wait until it is all white!  The back is still dark, and sometimes I style it in ways that play up the contrast of light and dark.

So I guess what I am trying to say is I can help you out in maybe two to three years.  I don't think you were wanting to wait that long though.

Lol ! It sounds great and I'd love to wait ! Grin Your hair sounds really gorgeous and I bet you're also looking forward to dressing up as well ! Any chance of a little early practice in the meantime ?  Wink Wink And I'm fascinated by your description"sparkling" too ! Do you have any incognito pics as I can't even begin to imagine it ?

Do you like the shiny silver jewelry ideas ?   Smiley

Thanks
