trimming by the moon
Apr 26th, 2007 at 5:05pm

I am thinking of cutting my hair on the next waxing moon phase.  If I can figure out when that is.  Do any of you trim your hair by moon phases?  If you do, please tell me when the next one is.  I want to see if it has any impact on the rate of growth I get.  I have heard of being able to trim your hair by the moon phases to thicken hair growth and also to slow it down.  Have any of you ever heard of this?

Thanks
Debr

That link requires that you be able to open PDF files.  Here's a link to a web page that has basically the same information.

The gravitational pull of the moon affects many things - in particular liquids.  Since the body is primarily fluid, the premise is that the moon can affect various functions of the body such as growth.  I have no clue how they think cutting or not cutting dead cells (which is what hair is) can affect the growth of hair, but many swear by this chart.

Anyone else have a clue?

I am just curious.  I was reading some articles on the web regarding moon phases.  There are some gardening tips too.  Planting and harvesting by the moon phases.  Also some tips for cutting hair for growth, cutting hair for thickness, and slowing down the growth process of hair.  So, I thought I would check with you guys to see if any of you had heard of this process.

Thanx BB for the info.  I am going to try to open it in a bit.

I have indeed heard of the moon meothod, though it's not one that I practice. It's more of a timing thing for me. I can go about 6 or 7 months between trims before the ends start looking really bad.  Tongue  So I trim when my hair needs it.

And given that there is zero scientific data to support this method, I'm afraid that I'm with BB on this one. No idea.
