Styles in 10 minutes or less
Aug 8th, 2007 at 8:44pm

In January of last year the company I worked for was acquired by the Walmart/Borg of our industry.  I spent the last 17 months completely stressed out, working a ton of hours, and doing nothing with my hair besides a bun or figure 8.   That giant of a company has now gone out of business and I start my new job tomorrow with what sounds like a much better company.  In an effort to embrace change I want to try to wear my hair differently each day.  I'm never going to spend a lot of time getting ready in the morning, so that is where the 10 minutes comes in.

I prefer to wear my hair up at work, and am looking for ways to mix up even my standard styles with different parted bangs, scarves, and accent braids.  I'll start with my stand by's that are below and I'm hoping others will chime in, so that we can have a nice long list of easy styles.

How do you do the faux crown braid? I love the look of a crown braid but doing it on myself with my hair is impossible.

Those are pretty styles!  Your curls hanging from the topsy-tail style are gorgeous!

Sorry I didn't see the replies looking for info on the faux crown.  It is so easy!

Pull your hair into a low ponytail and make two braids (english or rope braids).  Bring the braids up around your head and pin, making sure that each 'tail' is tucked under the other braid and pinned well.  I liked the addition of the scarf and it also made it easy to camoflauge the ponytail holder at the base and even a couple small claw clips near each ear.
