I did not start watching NASCAR until the Daytona 500 in 2001 when the late great Dale Earnhardt Sr. was killed on the final lap

I knew about Jeff Gordon and Richard Petty but none of the others.

But now I am a diehard NASCAR fan and Jeff Gordon is my favorite driver and I also like his team mate/mentor Jimmie Johnson

I also like Kevin Harvick, Tony Stewart, Mark Martin, Clint Bowyer, Kyle Kusch and Martin Truex, Jr.


My wife also likes NASCAR but not as much as I do.  Her favorites are Michael Waltrip, Kenny Wallace, Carl Edwards, Martin Truex, Jr. and Denny Hamlin.
