I need hug

I made a mistake on another board (not hair related) and asked a question. I was told off and told to make a search. Thing is I did a search am came up with nothing usefull. When I got the instant message I started to cry. Cry

I was being treated like a troll Embarrassed

To make matters worst I got a pm from one of the mods saying not to waste peoples time. and that was on there question and answer section.
You guys know me, I am not a troll. It just hurt really bad as I need advise one the subject and people are just being clickish and rude. Sorry for the rant, I just has to tell someone.

1. Reply to Moderator PM stating the rudeness of certain members and let Her(him) know how you feel.. Then...
2. No longer visit that board.

There are member(s) in the long hair community like this as well that are so high and mighty that they belittle new members with sarcasm and BS. I'm glad this (these) individual(s) are not here.

Seriously, I second Sir Rat's suggestions. If you think there's a mod who will either be sympathetic or open minded, contact him/her about what happened. Hopefully that person will reprimand the jerks. And definitely don't go to that board again unless you absolutely must. I don't know what kind of board that was, but I'm sure you'll be able to find another that discusses the same thing

From a gramatical standpoint, it might help to think about how you phrased the question. Were you specific about what you were asking? Did you mention in your post that you had already tried a search engine and gotten sketchy results? It might have helped if you had said something like, "I have already tried [such and such search engine] and didn't find what I was looking for - otherwise, I wouldn't be asking everyone here."

But you know what, hon, when the mods jump on you, there really isn't much that you can do. You're better off just staying away from that particular forum and finding another. Preferably one with a more polite following.

You're certainly not a troll. *hugs* You can't control what other people think or how they act. But you can distance yourself from a negative environment and not worry so much about what people who have never met you might say. Stay chill, sista. Wink

((((hugs!)))) I agree with everything that has been already said. I'm sorry you were treated so harshly. That does sound like clickish behavior- how is a newbie supposed to know everything?
Perhaps, if you feel comfortable, you could ask your question here and see if someone among us could help you out? We are a small board and talk mostly about hair, but you never know.

I'm so sorry you were treated this way. Anyone on a message board that is intended to provide information should be accustomed to repeating information (I can't tell you how many times I have explained how to oil hair!). If they don't want to repeat the information, you would think they could at least provide a link to the info or tell you how to find it. (At least that is how I try to handle these situations).

As the others have mentioned - letting a moderator know how you were treated might help, but I wouldn't bank on it. Some sites are just like that.

If you are still needing information - ask it here - we are such a diverse group, I would not doubt we could help you get your answers.

Thank you all so much, you guys make me feel so welome here and I really do feel loved! I love you guy!!
I have unsubscribed to the other forum, I don't need there baloney. I did tell them I could not find what I wanted in there search, there engine is so messed up! The forum was one on house plants. This is what I said

" I have a rare Hoya plant. It is both green and yellow and has an albino half as well, the stems are pink and the leaves are snow white. I call him Mikey.

Anyway, I have has him for years and he as stopped growing and is sheading his leaves. I tried repotting, moving to different windows and even leaving music on for him but he's not improving. My searches have come up with nothing I have not already tried. Thanks in advance!"

That was the message. The people there are plant experts, there's even a representive from Will & Cullen. Plants are my other passion At one point I had at least 100 plants in my little flat as well as an outdoor garden. Anyway, if anyone has an idea as to what to do with Mikey let me know!

Again, thank you all so much, there no beeter place in the world then here!

I wish it wasn't so though because I love them so much. I could just imagine 100 plants in a flat, I'm sure it looked very enchanting.
