A new job for me
Nov 16th, 2007 at 10:28pm

YESSSS!!!!  Its true, I have started another new job  Grin Grin. This job is temp to hire.  It pays more than I have been paid in a long time. I am learning to be a stock clerk.  I got the job cuz of all the experience I have in related areas(ordering, purchasing for my church, inventory, etc at old job).  I turned in my resume, no interview, they hired me just as is. I dont know how the job will last, but if I can make till the end of the year, I will be happy. I can wear my nicer clothes, I can even wear my down, but it got in the way today so I dont think that will be an option any longer.  One of my co workers is a woman I worked with from another job.  She was envious of my hair and decided to grow hers out.  Her hair length is now mid-back. Since I wore my down today, I got alot of compliments on its length, thickness, and general health.  I dont know how long I will be able to keep it up each day as the weight gives me a headache.  Any suggestions? My shifts are 8 hours long.  It is too much hassle to let it down at break and then try to put it back up.  So-it would have to be style I can easily do, wont give me a headache, and I can wear it all day.

Thanks
Deb

Congrats on your new job! Cheesy

I was thinking that perhaps a half up half down do might eliminate some of the weight while allowing you to show off your length at the same time.  Good luck!

Congratulations!!  I was thinking that twin braids might be useful, it would contain your hair and if you keep them infront of you you'll know where they are so they don't get caught.  Have you considered a hair net or snood?  Lady McSnood makes super long ones and she can make one special for your length if you email her (I think).

I've tried to think of other suggestions and all I get is braid.  Let us know what winds up working for you!  (For future reference!!)

Congratulations!

Another hair suggestion - how about a banded ponytail?  Just use several elastic hair ties at regular intervals down the tail.  This lets you show off the length, but still keep it well contained (and it isn't a braid!).  I have lots of Bunjii's that I use to do this style, but any hair friendly hair tie will work.  I like to coordinate the colors with what I am wearing, or be a little fun and use LOTS of colors.  Smiley

Good luck with this job - hope it can turn into something permanent.

Or just a single braid might work. Congrats on the new job, Debr.  Smiley

Hey Gang, thanks for all of your suggestions  Grin.  I still like my new job, although learning a job is crazy.  I cant wait until I know what I am doing.

I am thinking the multi-colored bands down the length sounds like a fun idea, BB.  Thanks!  I am learning to braid my hair.  I have been practicing at nite.  The braid is heavy too, but there is nothing I can do about.  I wanted this hair, now I have it.
