Job search
Feb 5th, 2008 at 6:38pm

I am searching for a job.  Nothing, nada, no, not anything have I found.  I have put in at least 5 apps and 2 -3 resumes per week for the last 4 weeks.  NO RESPONSE!!!!  I am going to a job fair on thursday this week, so hopefully something good will come my way.  There will be about 20 employers and 30 - 40 applicants.  Part of the problem has been cuz a lot of production managers dont want to hire someone who wears a skirt.  I dont wear pants, so I am limited.  I have decided to go back into the clerical field where I am not hampered by my clothing choice or hair length (style).  Production managers site the reason they wont hire me is cuz skirts are a safety risk.  The hiring folks at the job fair are required to have openings either now or within the next 2 - 3 weeks.  So, I have a good chance.

I went to job faire this morning.  It was good.  I found at least 2 positions to apply to.  Tomarrow morning I am going to make the applications. One of the places I am interested in is at Allan Bros Coffee.  Their representative was outgoing, and we seemed to hit off immediately.  I think she would be easy to work with.  I am excited about meeting with her again.  The position is for a barrista/cashier.  I have a lot of cashier experience.  I didn't want to go back to that field again, but it would be better than nothing. There was a lot of technical/manufacturing degrees desired there.  21 employers had been invited but only 14 showed up.  I was also able to get heating assistance this week, and I applied for food stamps this morning.  Things are really beginning to look up.  God is on my side, although I don't understand yet why I am having to go thru all this stuff, but He knows.

Lots of good luck Wink

I used to be on food stamps and housing assistance which I hated but those things are out there for those who really do need them.

I hope things keep getting better for you.
