2008 Valentine's Day Plans
Feb 10th, 2008 at 4:33pm

My wife and I are planning to go to one of our newest restaurants called The Macaroni Grill for Valentine's Day.

If you celebrate Valentine's Day do you have special plans or something special you are going to be doing?

No plans whatever. I'm broke & not seeing anybody.  Tongue

But my parents usually get things for my sister & I. It's nice.

I think I went to the Macaroni Grill for lunch once a few years ago.  If it was the Macaroni Grill that I'm thinking of, then their food was good.  It's along the same lines and the Olive Garden and Bravo.

The week of Valentines is typically a busy one for my husband and I.  My birthday, Valentines Day and my husbands birthday are all within a few days of each other.  I joke that we should celebrate Groundhogs day and Presidents day too.

Anyway, for my birthday tomorrow, we are going to a Restaurant called Aquaknox, which is quite fitting because I'm an aquarius.  For Valentines Day, I believe we are going to another seafood/sushi restaurant (we're pescatarians) called Silk.  We haven't decided where to go on my husbands birthday yet, but since it's on the weekend, I think we may end up at Jermaine Dupri's night club called Studio 72.

We did go to The Macaroni Grill which was kind of on the expensive side for our budget but I thought the food was pretty good.  I had a chicken soup and spaghetti with meat balls which was pretty filling.  My wife had fetticheni (sp?) and shrimp.

Here is a picture of what my wife gave me for Valentines day.

I'm glad you enjoyed your Valentines day Jerry.  I'm guessing there are chocolates in that Nascar tin. Smiley

I am sorry to hear you were sick.  That seems to be going around pretty much everywhere.

I have been very lucky this year so far, I have not even gotten a cold (knock on wood - even when my wife had one).

I love panda bears!

Hubby and I took my mom out for sushi on Valentine's Day.  My dad was out of town and he hates sushi so it worked out just great.

I'm not big on Valentine's itself, I prefer to be Valentine-like all year long.

I got hubby a neuromuscular therapy session and a Chocolove bar- there's a love poem inside the wrapper.

Dined out at Tucker's place on a small 16 oz. fillet mignon. Dang! they discontinued the 24 oz!

I have yet to get inside of a Macaroni Grill. Even at 9:00PM, there were annoying crowds waiting for tables. One hour waits. UGH... Tried three weeks in a row to use a gift card. Just couldn't get near the place.

We don't exchange gifts at all. Yeah, not very romantic but if she wants something, I tell her to go get it if we can afford it. It matters not if there is an occaision.

We got to the Macaroni Grill at about 4:20pm and there were 3 people ahead of us and we had to wait for only about 10 minutes at the most to be seated at a table (which was the closest table to the fireplace).

The place filled up and when we left there was a long line and we had to almost shove our way through it to get out the door.

I would have to have something light to eat if I was going to go at 9pm Shocked   I like to have dinner/supper no longer than 5:30pm but it depends on how big of a lunch I had.

We had dinner reservations at 5:00 (although we typically never eat that early) only to wind up getting take out from the Olive Garden around 9:00 at night, and it was really crowded. There were people waiting in the lobby, at the bar and even outside.  I guess eating early on Valentines day is best to avoid the crowds.

I own a flower shop....... our only plans were to WORK OUR BUTTS OFF!  Valentines day just isn't the same once you've entered the flower biz!

This year I had the flu over Val day, all I wanted to do was crawl into bed, instead I had to stand on my feet for 20 hours a day....for 4 days.  By the time closing came on the day of the holiday I thought for sure I'd just fall over and die, I don't even remember the drive home!  Once I got home and hit the sheets, I stayed in them for 3 days solid.  I never slept so much in my life, but man did I need it!

Valentine's Day, that's a curse word!!!

Maggie;
I was thinking of you this Val Day - hoping it was a prosperous one for you.  Sorry to hear you were feeling so ill. Sad
