Greetings from Florida
May 29th, 2008 at 7:18pm

Hello, newbie here, wanted to thank you ladies for your great posts & to introduce myself.

I am 40 yrs old, live in Tampa FL and have had long hair most of my adult life.  It's been between bra strap length & waist length mostly. Over the last 9 yrs, it has gone from waist length to bra strap length due to various bad decisions.  Starting with the idea to get my hair highlighted, then trying to color it back to it's natural color after the highlights grew out.  Then cuts to get rid of the damaged ends, more coloring to cover greys, flat iron use & hair dryer use.  More cuts and now here I am with bsl......My hair is fine and doesn't seem to grow as fast or as much as it used to  Embarrassed.

Nevertheless, I have found so many helpful tips from you all on this forum, as well as this website; I am so glad that I found you.  Love the vinegar rinse, bought jojoba oil today & very happy with results from using that and did the rosemary/sage dye to try covering the greys at my temples.

I've kicked the flat iron &  hair dryer use and not using a hair brush any more too!  I feel like I have learned a lot about what I was doing wrong lately from this site & am so happy to be back on the right track of taking care of my hair so it can be LONG & HEALTHY!

So, thank you all for your great tips & nice to meet you!

Welcome!  It's nice to see another "mature" person with long hair.   Cool

Welcome aboard, Yellowvette.  Smiley

Sounds like you're on the right track already.
I also have fine hair that grows quite slowly, so I know your frustration. Patience is a virtue or some such nonsense.

Anyway, happy growing!

I know what you mean, some people have asked me how long I think I can have long hair, based on my age    Angry  My answer is always the same, as long as I can, I will have long hair!  hahahahaha, not sure why some believe after you reach a certain age you should have short hair, but I am going to have to go against the "norm" if that is the belief!

I agree, patience.........ugh!!!!!!!!! I like instant gratification, but sometimes I guess you gotta wait it out.   Grin

Right, what's that old expression? Good things come to those who wait...but you'll probably die before you see any of them? lol  Grin
