LadyOfGold's Journey!
Oct 28th, 2008 at 9:48pm

My hair finally covers my ears! I should have a chin length bob by Christmas, and the shortest layer should be about the top of my ear. Woohoo! This is the longest that my hair has been in a very long time.
There is a girl in my department at school with amazing hip-length hair. It's so difficult to stare at it every day (she is in many of my classes), and it makes me want long hair even more! Sigh. I will get there eventually, but this waiting is hard.

Hang in there - your hair will grow!  Your journal is a great way to record your progress.

I was just cast in our theatre departments production of Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew." Our director is absolutely forbidding us to do anything to our hair until he decides in what period he wants to place us. So even if I get frustrated and want to chop my hair off again, I can't!  Grin I am, however, discretely trimming the bottom every month or so. That way, it all gets to one length faster. I just have my mom take off about a fourth of an inch at a time.

Thanks! I was cast in an unexpected role. I am playing Biondello, who is actually a guy, and is Shakespeare's typical fool character. Hurrah for comic relief! I can't wait, it's is such a fun role: I pretty much get to jump around and be goofy; not a far stretch for me!

If it's any comfort, a bit of envy can help you stay focused on your goals.  Well, it has that positive effect on many people as long as it doesn't change to jealousy.  Good luck with the production.

Just as I predicted, my hair is in a bob, with the longest layer right by my jaw bone. The shortest layer is about half an inch above my ear. I would like to continue to grow it out, so that I could get all my hairs to one length, but it's looking like my natural blonde has darkened in the past few years while my hair has been dyed. My roots are now a light brown. If I wasn't in Taming of the Shrew, I would have a stylist color my hair to match my roots.
So it looks like I'm going to maintain this cut for at least three months, getting regular all-over trims to cut the color out. From there I cam going to continue trimming the back of my hair and my bangs only so that the rest of the layers can grow out to one length.

Then what? I'm not sure. Right now I am really digging Katie Holmes' vampy, 20s-style bob, but in a few months I might want longer hair again.
