Christmas Card/Gift Exchange
Nov 5th, 2008 at 9:42am

So, I've been thinking...not that I'm in charge of the annual Christmas gift exchange or anything.  I just seem to be the one who brings it up.   Smiley  Anyway, yes, been thinking...

I always enjoy participating in the gift exchange.  However, this year, even though we always try to limit the amount to $10, I just don't have the money to spare.  I'm sure a lot of you are in the same financially tight boat.  But I would still like to do SOMETHING.  Ya know?

Well, I've been thinking on this situation for the past week or so, and came up with this idea.  What if we, those who want to participate, do the usual drawing of names to exchange Christmas cards along with a gift but, here's the catch-- the gift has to be small enough to fit inside a standard size card envelope.  Something like a barette, or a pair of earrings, or samples of shampoo/conditioner.  Greeting cards don't cost a lot, stamps only cost 45 cents, and finding an envelope-size gift should prevent a costly present.  Besides, the point of this *should* be to further our friendships and not about who spends the most money.

Opinions?  Other ideas?

Sounds like a great idea to me!  I'm sure you are not the only cash-strapped longhair around here!  I'd be more than happy to coordinate this again.  How do the rest of you feel about this?
