Hi, my name is Karen. I am new here. I've decided rather recently that I want to grow my hair and grow it healthier. It's currently arm pit length. I was inspired by a lady I saw at the Target near where I live (she was checking out the bikinis; she had really long beautify hair tied up in a high ponytail - saw her later again in the haircare aisle). I definitely want to try for bra strap length!!

Thanks for all the welcomes and well wishes. My hair is hard to grow because it's really baby fine. I have dark hair (a mixture of black, medium brown and lighter browns - naturally - haven't had any highlights in at least 6 years) with a slight wave (when short it's wavy but I haven't worn my hair shorter than shoulder length in over 10 years). I am Chinese (so the black hair that I have also has a blue sheen to it). I lost a LOT of hair after the birth of my daughter - maybe 6 months after (it grew very long though during the pregnancy - like a weed). She's 20 months old now and a lot of the hairs I lost are now about 3 - 4 inches long.

Many women grow long, thick, gorgeous hair quickly during pregnancy only to lose it after their children are born. Hormones are crazy, crazy things. Tongue

Most Asians have hair to die for, so consider your heritage a blessing. If you have ever seen photos here of Juri's or Anais Satin's hair, you know what I mean.

Fine hair requires extra attention. I probably have the finest hair of anyone on these boards and have over 27" now. All I can say is that it's best to work with your hair type rather than against it. Don't try to make it be something it's not.

Oh yes, and you'll need patience. Lots of patience. Roll Eyes
