"Allure" article
Dec 12th, 2003 at 4:04pm

Has anyone read the December issue of "Allure" magazine?  I thought it would be a great article (I'm not used to reading about long hair in fashion magazines) but I was kind of dissappointed.   Cry It didn't go into great detail about how to take care of your hair and let it grow long.  It basically said not to damage your hair.  What annoyed me was the "specialist" who said, "DON'T GO TOO LONG.  WHEN HAIR GROWS WELL PAST THE NIPPLE, IT'S NOT SEXY, IT'S SPOOKY."  Well obviously this guy has no clue what he's talking about!  Angry

I'm more than happy to be spooky  8)

I avoid fashion/style magazines - I never seem to like what they say.  I've always "marched to my own beat".

I'd watch how you react.  Your statements are not much better than his.  It is OK to to have differing opinions, and most of us here would agree that we prefer longer hair, but we don't have to pass judgement on him personally.  We can just agree to disagree.

Let's put it this way, I have a son that is 10 years older than you.   Roll Eyes

Whatever our age differences are, there are many things we can share and learn from each other.

Frankly, I was disappointed in the Allure article, too.  They could have been more serious about its content, and if they wanted to quote experts, perhaps could have spoken with some of the better-known salons which specialize in growing and maintaining long hair for their clients.

I am letting my subscription expire because I had hoped to get more and better information on skin and hair, and most of their articles just seem to skim the surface.  Surgery  Shocked or more chemicals  Roll Eyes appears to be what many of their subscribers want to read about - not me! It seems I do better by doing my own research on the web, and by frequenting LongLocks!
