I was a baaad girl!

Remember the article below that made us all so mad? I finally went to her site and visited her message boards and gave all the pitiful fashion-followers good advice!

Better go now, before I get deleted!

It looks like eKatherine has made comments on just about ALL the threads.

Kudos for taking constructive action, eKatherine! Pretty much all of us griped about that article, but you were the only one who actually did something to help longhairs and reduce ignorance.

*applause*

I thought it was really interesting the hair fashion forum was named "Hairstyle Heaven-- Overbleached, over fried, too limp, too wild, get that look... hairstyle tips, fixes, and treats". Even the title sounds like hairstyle hell.

There were two pages of threads, and I managed to answer about half of them before being overcome with exhaustion. That, and the fact that some of the posts which had not received any response were
  • time-limited - Need a hairstyle tonight (posted in January)
  • gave insufficient details to address - I don't like what my hair does, what should I do?
  • were repetitions of previous questions
  • or were older than this January.
There hasn't been a lot of action on the board, so even when a question had received a response  (from the guru herself, or from someone else) you didn't see give and take, follow-up questions.

I was tempted to post a picture of my hair, but then I thought maybe I ought to leave them guessing.

If I don't end up getting deleted (all my posts were sincere-sounding), it would be easy to work up traffic and control the direction of a board like that, which is suffering from benign neglect by its owner. Roll Eyes 8)

Oh gosh, I've been doing that too-- visiting less-hair-friendly boards and doing damage control. You're not the only "baaad girl" around here, eKatherine 8) Way to kick butt!

Anaïs,

What boards do you go to? If more than one of us visited the same boards, maybe we could get up some critical mass action.

Solidarity and all that.

ekatherine- I thought the answers were all excellent
especially to the one with fine hair.  I rarely visit those
boards because they always say things that I dont
want to hear-like you should cut it, layer it, ect.(for
fine hair)

Hi eKatherine

I've sent you a p.m. about our "solidarity"... Roll Eyes instead of posting here... If anyone else is interested in this collateral damage stuff, please feel free to send me a private message.
