Interesting...I have never used any kind of natural oils in my hair, it doesn't leave it greasy looking?  How often should it be used?  I'm very curious about this! Shocked

Maggie;
When oiling hair, you only apply a very small amount to the hair below the ears.  This is the hair that is older and typically in need of moisture.  A drop or two of oil is usually all that is needed for waist length hair.  You don't want a heavy coating on the hair, just a light amount that the hair can absorb.

The frequency of oiling depends on many factors.  Some people oil every day (or nightime, just before bed).  Some only oil when they feel their hair needs it.  Some will oil their hair after shampooing, when it is still wet, others only when dry.

There are different types of oils, as are being described here.  It is pretty much a trial and error process to find what works best for you and your hair.

I`ve used Hemp Seed oil, it seems a bit lighter than Jojoba.

I'm absolutely delighted that it's worked out for you, Strawberryfine!  Grin

Hemp Seed Oil...that sounds interesting. I've seen the Hemp Seed hand balm in The Body Shop and it's very good for super dry skin. The only thing I didn't like about the skin balm is the strong scent.

Does the oil have a scent? Where did you find it?

I use unrefined hemp oil in my lotion bar making, and it smells like a freshly-cut lawn.

Rua, you can find it at health food stores, or at markets like Whole Foods.
