A Question about coloring?
Mar 25th, 2007 at 5:47pm

Hi all,

I need some help or advice on coloring my hair red.  I am trying to color my hair a fiery red or a carrot orange.  What is the best shade and product to use to achieve this shade?  Right now I have color on my hair, and the color is a strawberry blonde. My natural hair color is brown with blondish highlights.  I strongly appreciate it!  Thanks

I suggest going to a salon and consluting a colorist.  I think reds can be trickey.

I agree with Sakina.  Reds are very  tricky.  A stylist can also recommend shampoo/conditioner to maintain the color after its applied.  Some ladies I know have even changed their makeup colors and clothing colors to go with the red look.

Yes, you both are very right.  Reds can be very tricky.  Especially if you already have colored hair.  But I remember very well when I colored my hair red the first time in my whole life when I first started coloring my hair back in the late 1980's.  I used the old Nice N' Easy hair coloring product.  That was before they advanced it into with adding more conditioner to it.  I mean, they had conditioner in the kit but it wasn't as strong as the conditioners that Nice N' Easy has now.  I mean, the conditioner that the coloring kit had back in the 1980's felt like a shampoo/conditioner type solution.  Now in todays more advanced Nice N' Easy products they've made the conditioners more creamy and thicker than before, and I love it very much!!!!  Especially the colorseal conditioning gloss!!!!  I love that conditioner!!!!  I collect a lot of tubes of that stuff!!!  I can admit it that I have a whole small box of that stuff in my closet now.  I can say right now that I have about 60 tubes of Clairol ColorSeal Conditioning Gloss.  It gives my hair a beautiful gloss and shine!!!!  Oh, and I bet it gives auburn or red hair a beautiful healthy shine and gloss!!!!
