Yay! I got my Secret Santa gift today!  A wonderful card and 3 beautiful handmade knitted accessories, from Bikerbraid. Cheesy

One is a wreath pin and the other two (a beaded cream one, and black one) I will be using as knit scrunchies.

Thank you so much, Bikerbraid.  We're starting a tradition.  You've been my Secret Santa for two years in a row now. Smiley

I'm glad they arrived finally!  FYI - the wreath is tatted, the scrunchies were crocheted.

I had my hubby do the drawings for who got who - so repeats from prior years were possible but not planned.  Hope you didn't mind.

After looking at my learn how to crochet dvd last night, I realized that the scrunchies were crochet stitches.  Although, I don't know what "tatted" is. Huh

And of course I didn't mind having you as my SS. Smiley

Tatting is typically done with very fine cord or thread and is a series of knots used to make fine lace.  A big difference between crochet and tatting is - if you find the end of a crocheted piece and pulled - it would unravel (same as with knitting); but tatting would not.  When you see decorative edging on hankies or blouses from long ago - they may very well have been tatted.  A shuttle is most commonly used to make the knots, but I use a slightly different method called needle tatting - it is more similar to crochet, but still ties individual knots. It is a "lost" craft.  Not many people still tat.  I guess I was just born in the wrong era!  Wink

Pretty interesting, thanks for the info.  Now I know who to turn to if I have any crocheting questions in the future...if of course, you don't mind. Wink

Sakina, thank you so much--I received my SS card and gift on Monday.   Smiley  From Miss S, I received a book bungee, which is a high tech bookmark (very cool!) and some bath powder called Bliss Bath, an unscented product to which I add my own drops of essential oil.  I'm looking forward to using both of those goodies.  Again, thanks so much, my dear!  *hugs*   Cool

Trisha, you're very welcome!!!  I'm sorry my gift arrived so much later than everyone else's-I hope you didn't feel forgotten!

I love the book bungee!  Best book marks ever!  If you want to check out Bliss Bath powder, go to http://www.naturesgift.com/aromatherapybath.htm .  I hope you like it as much as I do!  I didn't know what kind of scents you prefer...

Merry Christmas!!!
