What are you wearing for Halloween 2009?

Yahoo!! Yippee!!  Its my favorite time of year!!!  Happy Halloween!!!  Happy Samhain!!!

I usually dress in at least two different costumes for Halloween.  This year I'm dressing as a Victorian Lady for our Halloween Picnic.  For the 31st, I haven't decided if I'll revisit the Victorian Lady or dress as a pirate.

I had grand plans for decorating and acting like a crazy pirate, but with my mom's health problems and all the traveling I did this summer I think I'm going to tone it down quite a bit.

The majority of my costume comes from www.recollections.biz.  They're a lovely company to deal with.  I'll be wearing: http://recollections.biz/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=R&Product... (I know, its Edwardian)
http://recollections.biz/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=R&Product...
http://recollections.biz/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=R&Product...

And the awesome hat from Darna, Miss Ivory Crystal Fairy.  http://eastangelharbor.com/_wsn/page2.html

So, what are you wearing for Halloween 2009???

Awww, I love panda bears!  Sounds like lots of fun.  Will you be a scary school girl, like in the Japanese scary movies?  I love Asian horror films.

I'm going as a rocker chick.  With Midnight Angel's help, my costume is going to be awesome!!

...even if I end up just handing out candy to trick-or-treaters.

Halloween's my favorite!  When I have an actual house, I'm going to be throwing some major Halloween parties.   Grin

LOL-that panda's gonna have big eyes and sweat drops coming off his face (like in anime).  Hee heee.

Be sure to use some blue and white makeup for your Samara.  Oh how I love to scare people...returns evil laugh  Grin

Goodness ...

... I'm going to go out on a limb, and let me know if I am getting the correct reference here...

Are you going as a cute busty red-headed Japanese school girl?
Will your Don be carrying signs, or perhaps a broom?
Be sure to bring plenty of cold and hot water with you! Grin

*sigh* I have never really been into Halloween and dressing up.  We just never really lived in an area where there were lots of trick-or-treaters, and my mom was never very enthusiastic about dressing up and getting festive.

A couple of years ago I did go to a party as a zombie.  I took some clothes that weren't really fitting well anymore and tore them up and rolled them around in the dirt.  I used two shades of blue eye shadows to make my face all pale and blue and then did red eyeshadow and black eyeliner.  I made fake blood out of food coloring and corn syrup (man that's sticky!) and put it all over.  I looked pretty good!

I do need a new idea for this year though as we've been invited to a party.  My husband is no fun; his idea of going all out is wearing a t-shirt that says, "This is my costume."  The nice thing about the zombie costume was that I already had everything I needed for it and I didn't have to spend any money.

... Shucks.

MichelleR: One easy/cheap costume idea is the movie theatre floor. Just wear all black from head to toe and pin popcorn, candy wrappers, gum, smashed or half eaten concession-type goodies to your clothes. Wink

I have to revise my outfit.  Since I bought the blouse, somehow my chest got considerably larger.  (No, I don't have implants)

So, I'm now wearing a short kebaya I got in Bali several years ago and either the velvet skirt I already mentioned or this one: http://recollections.biz/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=R&Product...

BTW, I buy most of my stuff when they have a sale...

Wow, great idea's and I love the pics of your costume, Sakina! Cheesy

It would be cool if those who are dressing up, could post pics of themselves in costume in this thread.

I was going to do two costumes this year, but have decided to just go with one.

I'll be a waitress from True Blood's Merlotte's.  I already have my costume which is quite simple, a Merlotte's T-shirt and apron, paired with black shorts and tennis shoes.  My husband has agreed (for now Roll Eyes ) to go as LaFayette.  I told him that he won't have to get very flamboyant.  Just jeans, a t-shirt, an apron, a do rag and eyeliner.  We'll be handing out candy and going to a Halloween party afterwards.
