Scrunchie alternative

If you are looking for a ponytail holder that really holds your ponytail, I would suggest checking out www.bunjii.com ; These ponytail holders are made of a thin covered elastic (like a very thin bunjie cord) that loops around your hair and is secured in a patented clip.  They have a variety of colors and also come with beads on them for a little pazzazz. This January they just started selling a leather and sterling silver version that looks very classy.  I have a number of the bunjii's and find that they hold a ponytail all day without having to readjust.  They will also work well on the ends of braids - just wrap the cord around your hair as many times as you like then snap it in the clip!

that is a really cool alternative....thanks for sharing I am always looking for great ways to keep my hair neat while I am at work...I have these things called monkey paws or monkey fingers (not sure which) that are cool too.  They have little clips on each end that clip onto your hair and so the form a x to hold your hair in a twist ...I found them in a local drug store...sorry no great web site to see.....

I think I have seen those.  Does you hair get caught in the "claw" at all?  I've avoided them up until now because I through they might catch my hair.

I've used them a couple of times and so far they seem to be fine...I haven't caught or pulled my hair with them...

Almost as good as hairsticks!

I have found this WONDERFUL piece of hair jewelry that is almost as good as hairsticks! It's called a HAIR SCROO, and a friend of mine bought it for me from Belgium. It's a little screw that looks like a small piece of DNA (two pieces of black wire intertwined) and it's so simple to use. You just hold your hair up the way you want it styled and you screw this little device into your hair. It comes in a pack of 2 and you may find that you need to use both if you hair is heavy. I have 4 since my hair is long and thick. The best thing is, the screws disappear so you can never tell what exactly is holding your hair up! It's amazing  Grin!

I have a bronze hairstick that is a spiral that I screw into my bun to hold it in place.  I really like the way it holds.  Who makes the HAIR SCROO?  I'd be interested in finding them.

It doesn't actually say on the packet who makes it. It says HAIR SCROO - a hairpin with a twist. That's all that's on it, I'm sorry it doesn't help much  Sad. These are cool because they don't show so you can never see what's holding your hair up!

That NAIR SCROO sounds great....I must search the net to find one...if I come across a source I'll post the site...MUST SHOP>>>MUST FIND THINGS FOR MY HAIR>>>MUST SHOP....

Ok so I am a little crazy about shopping on the net but by the time I am home at night I don't want to think about going back out to a store.

Well, this is the site. It's not in English so I don't know if you'll be able to understand :S. Good luck!

script

If the link doesn't work, try copying and pasting it into your browser.

(I personally don't know the difference between the two sets of scroos they show there.  Embarrassed)
