I love going to the salon for a hot oil massage. They spend about 15-20 minutes massaging the head and it feels so good, then they put steam on your hair for 20 minutes (is this bad for your hair by the way?) Afterwards they wash out the oil by shampooing twice and putting in conditioner.
I got asked six times today if I wanted a blow dry after the oil! And three times it was by the same person! After washing my hair she took me to the blow dry room where the manager was, and I explained to her that I didn't want my hair blow dried, so she told the girl to towel dry my hair. Hehe it was hard getting her to understand that I didn't want it dried because so many people go to the salon just for a blow dry! *sigh* I don't understand why. There are so many better ways to get your hair straightened/de-frizzed without ruining your hair in any way. I think it kind of defeats the purpose of a hot oil treatment if you're just going to blow your hair dry anyway!
But the good thing is, my hair feels extreeeemely soft and nice after that. It's usually soft anyway because my conditioner is really good, but today it's EXTRA soft
! I should have asked them what oil they used, so I could tell you guys to try it out... I'll ask them when I go again next time.
Anyway, if any of you ever get the chance to get a hot oil treatment I'd say go for it! It's relaxing during the massage, makes your hair feel and look great, and it's inexpensive (well, *here* it's inexpensive... but then again, everything is here!).
Apart from jojoba and coconut oil, is there any other type of oil that you use in your hair?
