Totally dry
Aug 30th, 2003 at 10:50am

Hi there,

my hair tips are becoming extremly dry. They used to get dry when they were some inches longer and nothing helped...therefore I had to cut them and never got hair longer than waistlong. But they are only midback and do not feel soft any longer  Shocked
What can I co? Conditioner did not work. I just ordered some jojoba oil and hope that will be right  ???

Have you tried hot oil treatments? Or deep conditioning treatments? I usually trim dry ends and then take care of my ends to make sure they don't get dry again!  Grin

I found the jojoba oil works very well on the dry ends of my hair.  I usually oil my hair at night then either braid or bun it so that the oils are absorbed into the hair and not the bedding.  By morning, my hair is soft.  I've also found that putting a bit of conditioner on the ends before shampooing will protect the fragile ends from the drying effects of the shampoo.

Good luck!

Hi there,

I once tried oil treatment with olive oil and it was so disguisting! I could not make my hair less oily for a week  Grin
I use conditioner before washing my hair always. Next week Iīll get the jojoba oil and I really hope this will be quite as good as expected Wink
Today I used some not- oiling treatment four times bu it doesnīt help longer than some hour  Sad

Olive oil treatments work WONDERS for me! But it's obviously different for each hair type.

I was going to recommend CWC washing, invented by Martine who visits on other boards. After I did this, my hair felt so superb! What you have to do is get your hair wet, condition all of the length, and shampoo the scalp. As you rinse it out, you can let the shampoo suds wash over the length or hold the length out of the way. Then you condition the length once again. Without any shampoo on my length the health of my hair has really improved  Cheesy

Leia is right, the CWC method is great-I tried it after reading Leiaīs message a few weeks ago ,and so far itīs really working nicely Cheesy Thanks,Leia!
Olive oil didnīt work for me either,it left my hair a frizzy mess.Iīm not too much into oiling the hair anyway,it simply doesnīt do too much for my hair. The only oils I use occasionally are coconut, hemp and jojoba. But no earth-shattering results for me  Grin Grin Grin
E. -I know you mentioned conditioner didnīt help, but there is one terrific,silicone-free deep conditioner available here in Germany,by Beyvers, and it works wonders whenever my hair(esp.the ends)get too dry!
