I visit a few other forums regularly (http://www.trumpetherald.com, and http://www.airbrushtechnique.com). I've noticed a correlation to my interest in them and the number of forum topics there are. Trumpetherald for instance has fewer topics, so the threads move quickly. The other one moves very slow because there are a ton of topics to post under. I think that this site would be greatly benefitted from having several forums mixed together. It would be more interesting because things would move faster. I think members are generated by faster moving threads, and once you have a larger database of regular posters you can always make more topics if you'd like. It's just an idea, I think it would really help the growth here. (no pun intended). I figured I'd open it up for discussion, and maybe the forum owner could see if there is a general 'yeah', or general 'nah'. I haven't been here very long, but I would very much like to further the issue of long hair (I even handed out the link to some long haired people I met at a concert we did), I think this might help.
