I've only just thought of this, after thinking back on work today. I often spend a lot of time on the telephone and generally use a hands free headset so that I can move around my desk area freely, pick up stuff out of drawers, off the floor etc. Some of you may have seen them - they are a bit like personal stereo headphones that go over your head rather than the ear bud ones, but they have a microphone attached as well. The headset can be adjusted to fit with a movable plastic slider. The hair on my crown isn't really that long right now, but as I start to grow it, is it possible that the use of such a headset could cause damage or breakage? Should I avoid them, and maybe try and switch to some other type or even try and go on speaker phone (not always possible).

I used to use an over-the-head headset that got tangled in my hair when I tried to take it off. Now I have one of those little one that perches on your ear. I find it much more comfortable.

Yes, my headset is adjustable.  It does get caught in my hair on occasion, but as long as I am careful in removing it, I don't have a problem.  I've tried the "over the ear" type of headsets, but I have really tiny ears, and it was hard to keep the earpiece from falling off.

The peice of office equipment I had the most difficulty was my chair!  My hair would get caught in the hardware on the back when I was wearing it down.  I found that putting a pillowcase over my chairback protected my hair from the hardware and the rough fabric on the chair.
