Smiley humm this is the second try at this. Here goes. I came upon this site while looking for hairstyle sites to cut my hair (not a really short hair cut).  I changed my mind and decided not to cut my hair and allow it to grow... I did cut off a little. It really needed it. It's to my waist now.

I am 41, married for 24 years with 3 children, girl 23, boys 18 & 15 and a grand daughter 3 years old. My husband also has long hair, about to the middle of his back.

I don't go to hair dressers because I have had terrible experiences with them. It seems like they all have one mission in mind and that is to cut off all of my hair. Once I went in for a "evening out" because one side of my hair was longer than the other. I came out with the back of my head shaved to about 1/4 inch half way up.
My mother is constantly saying to cut my hair bacause women my "age" don't look good with long hair. Mom has always hated my hair, when I was little she would cut my hair into the shortest pixie even though I begged her not too. She's a hair hater  Smiley

Anyway... enough of me babbling... just wanna say Howdy Ya'll. Grin Howdy

Edited to add name to subject

I used to get a lot of feedback that I should cut, color, and perm my hair. Needless to say, I don't anymore because I no longer hang out with those people.  Roll Eyes

I had long hair when I was a preteen until my late twenties, and my mother is very old-fashioned, so my long hair is a non-issue. She doesn't know I wear it up all the time, though. I think I'll send her a picture and see what she thinks,

Welcome, Anjy.  You will fit in well here - many of us fight the "you're too old for long hair" responses!

I'll be 37 this year and if I could get a penny for each time someone made a remark about getting a haircut ''which befits my age'' ,well ,I would be rich by now! Grin Angry Grin
