Greetings, Hope everyone is doing well! I've read that folks with really thick hair have about 100,000 follicles on their heads, and for me it seems that sometimes they all have a different agenda!
-- I moved to Michigan 3 years ago from New Mexico, so I'm still trying to get use to the bizarre weather here, and how it affects my hair.
My new stylist recently applied a permanent color to "seal" the hair to keep it less frizzy (we'll see), and the color is similar to fresh coffee -- really dark with just a hint of brown. Naturally, its dark brown as well, just not this dark.
Currently, my hair is about midway down my back if pulled straight, but dried naturally it's just past my shoulders. So, its really, really curly. Unfortunately, the curls are different throughout the hair --they vary from an "s" shape, to finger curls, to pencil sized curls. I hope to grow it long again (it was to my tail bone before "trims" from previous stylists), as long as it can be kept healthy.
Let's see...Products. Well, I haven't found that magic product yet, but currently I'm having decent results with Aveda's Elixir with a bit of Jojoba oil added in , and the Aveda Retexturing gel for hold. Generally, I wear it in a bun, or something similar to a twist since I have neither the time, nor the inclination to fuss with it for work. Since its almost always up, its adorned with hair sticks, hair prongs, barrettes, and the occasional scuncii.
Thanks for this site! It's Wonderful!
