my own little business
Jun 19th, 2004 at 5:28pm

no, im not trying to take Rapunzels place buy selling hairsticks  Wink im actually thinking of selling my own hand made greetings cards online (unfortunately only to UK people cos of fees etc).
for a while ive been making my own cards for loved ones birthdays, etc, and am thinking about setting up a little online store.
if i did, would anyone be interested? id send a free sample of my work to anyone who was interested(eventually, after sorting everything out) and id be selling the cards for about £2-£3. they come in different colours and messages, have cool foam lettering (and also printed messages inside) and theres the option of silver stars and streamers. i could make custom ones too!
i cant guarentee that im gonna go through with the business...at the moment im just seeing if it would work!
any feedback would be greatly appreciated!  Smiley  Smiley  Smiley

Sounds like a good idea! People (i.e. me) always love unusual cards and stationery.

If you're running the business on-line, why not provide a mailing service for your customers? They could pick a card, then personalize it by e.g. writing some text in a window on your site (using the mouse to simulate their handwriting). You could capture this as a color image and simply print it on their chosen card before mailing it to the recipient. That way it is "hand-signed."

I'd buy it! I'd do ALL my Xmas cards that way if such a service were available!

This sounds like a very good idea! Unfortunately I don't live in the UK...but I bet you'd get great business.

Sounds good! I also like to send out unique cards to people and since I have no creative talent,it's a bit difficult.
Unfortunately I'm also not in the U.K. Sad
