Junkie???
Jun 29th, 2004 at 1:32am

I am so frusterated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I'll buy a product and it will work well at first, then after a week be bad, example: Pantene Smooth and Sleek

I'll buy a product and it will work well for 2 and 1/2 bottles, then lets me down, example: Suave Apple

I'll buy a product then after 1 and 1/2 bottles it does pretty bad, example:Herbal Ess. Rainforest Flowers in Uplifting.

I have also tried Frutis, Head&Shoulders, L'oreal Strawberry Smoothie( this one did ok for 2 years)

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!! My hair is fine individually, noraml as a whole, and obviously doesn't like cones.

I also use Matrix smooth creme (dime size) and run it through wet hair to sun protect it.

So based on this

Hi Dayne

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "bad". How does your hair feel after those one or two weeks?
Anyway, my guess would be that the conditioner of those brands doesn't rinse very well, or leaves a small amount of residue each time you shower. My hair gets really crunchy if I don't do something about it every two weeks. Try doing a diluted vinegar rinse between washing and conditioning, or a clarifying shampoo. hope this helps

I think you are probably getting build up after using these products. Are you sure they are cone free? I thought I was pretty sure that Pantene was full of cones. Usually cone products cause build up. Doing a simple vinegar rinse as suggested or a baking soda rinse (unless your hair has chemicals in it) should help.

Yes,I agree,it does sound like build-up. You could also try a clarifying shampoo, like Neutrogena  Smiley

You might try diluting the products a bit so that they are not as prone to building up on your hair.  A vinegar rinse would also help if build up is the problem.  If you hair does not like -cones, you will need to stay away from Pantene, Fuctis and probably L'oreal products.

My hair does not do well with -cones when used every day, but I can use them on occasion.

Wow, thank-you, thats a lot of input for only a few hours!  I tryed vinegar last night and my hair felt so soft but was only a bit better.  I read what you have all said about Australian Organics.  It sounds great, and *yay* no cones, so I'm off to try that next. Anais Satin, by bad I meant weighted-down, sticky, and produced no sheen. By the way bikerbraid, thank-you for removing the unwanted 2nd topic!

I don't need to use a vinegar rinse as often with Australian Organics - probably once a month.  If I am using anything with -cones, I do a vinegar rinse every other wash.

I agree that Neutrogena is a great clarifier. I used it exclusively for four years, and it never let me down. (except it got hard to stock. 1oz bottles from a very specific hotel.)

Makes perfect sense...That's the way my hair becomes too, and crunchy, if I skip the vinegar. Glad it helped you at least a little bit. Good luck with the Australian product and be sure to post your feedback on it.
