Ah, thats so sweet, Maggie. Thank you!

I've been keeping up on the vitamins and such. (Been taking folic acid for the last year now, so I'm hoping that it's does everything that the doctors claim it does.)

Kate, welcome back! How was your holiday??
To answer your question, I feel kinda as sick as a parrot quite often during the day, but nothing I can't cope with. In fact, the thing I'm having difficulty coping with is how HUNGRY I am all the time. I can't figure out how something that is roughly the size of 2 kidney beans can make me eat so MUCH! Rua;
Hormones do strange things to your body!  I was pregnant 5 times - each one was VERY different.  Morning sickness with some and not others, food cravings with one and not the others, couldn't stand the smell of cooking meat with one pregnancy!  Soda/saltine crackers work well at settling a queasy stomach - I would keep some by the bed and eat one before getting up.

Try to enjoy this very special time.  I hope it all goes very well for you.

Having babies is such a blessing. I am excited for you Rua. My sister is pregnant, too. We have fun thinking about names. She think it will be a boy. Have you gone over names? Are you going to ask to find out what gender it is before it is born?
I can't wait to have a baby, one day. I feel like all my friends have kids or are pregnant except me. It is so exciting.
Bikerbraid, you have five kids? How old? You seem too young.

Bikerbraid, I just read on a post that your pushing 50, is that true? Do you think long hair makes woman look younger? I think so. Maybe because you have to be healthy to have long hair and health is associated with youth.

Hiya Joanne! Yes, we've given thought to some names, but haven't come to a decision yet. Hubby really wants to find out what the sex of the wee babe is...he can't wait for the birth. Me - I could wait, but I'll go along with hubby.  Cheesy

We are probably going to give it a semi-traditional Irish name...but one that isn't too complicated so that when we travel abroad, people won't get too confused on pronounciation.

Wow BB! 5 pregnancies! That's amazing! Fair play to ye woman!  Shocked Cheesy

Poor Rua, I hope the nausea passes soon and that you can enjoy your pregnancy!

And thanks, the vacation was fantastic! It's always lovely seeing family again, and so hard leaving them. And it's so DARK here now, yech I hate this time of year in Sweden.

Take care,
Kate

Kate, I know what you mean. A lot of my family live in America and the short times I get to see them seem to fly by so fast. Now that I'm preggers, all I can think about is how much they will be missing of their first grandbaby, and that kills me!  Cry

It's gotten so dark here too. As soon as daylight savings time hits, you can forget enjoying any sunshine for the next 4 months or so. I'd say it's even worse in Sweden actually because you are much higher up on the globe than we are! When does the sun set there?

Once the winter solstice comes in December our days are cut down from about 9am-3:30pm. Bleh is right!!!  Tongue

Joanne and Rua - I guess I should have been more clear - I've had 5 pregnancies, but only 1 son. Four pregnancies did not survive due to a heriditary disorder in my husband's family that no one fully understood at the time.  We consider ourselves very fortunate to have our healthy son.

And as long as we are revealing all our deep, dark secrets - I'm 51 and believe my long hair helps to keep me looking and feeling much younger.   Grin

I'm so sorry to hear that BB. I can't even imagine how difficult that must have been. Still, I'd say that you and your husband feel very blessed to have your son - healthy and happy.

And I agree that long hair on most women (especially when they know how to care for it), makes them look beautiful and young! Just looking at the back of your head on your avatar, I would have NEVER guessed in a million years you are 51! I was reckoning maybe 36! Long hair makes a woman carry herself with much pride and beauty. And rightfully so!

BB- I'm so sorry for your losses. I've m/c 3 times
myself- Probably my age- but I feel fortunate to have
my two sons- Your son is surely a blessing to you.
Yes I think long hair makes a woman look younger- contrary to the current wisdom of today that a woman
over 40 must cut her hair.
Rua- You must be sooo excited!! Don't worry about
eating- You have an excuse now!!
