'kay~I'm at my wit's end here.  I know I put waaaay too much oil on my hair last night and when shampooing repeatedly did not remove it, I turned to my last resort standby: Prell shampoo and baking soda;
I know, bad me.  Then I used just three fingertips worth of Biolage Conditioning Balm to detangle, then rinsed and slept in a towel.
This morning, my hair is soft, shiny, smooth except for the little curly halo which is curlier, and that's okay; it gives me a little texture.

The last time I oiled my hair overmuch (me and about a quarter cup of olive oil... oy vay!  The only way to get the greasy, sticky mess out was by washing with shampoo and following with a vinegar rinse.  The vinegar was the deciding factor.

Hi Red,
Too much oil is just too much of a good thing, don't you think?

I find I have to put less than a drop on the palm of my hand, rub my hands together vigorously and then rub my hands mostly on the ends only or I get too much.

I got complimented four times today on my hair looking good put up!  It was all from one person, but I'll take it!

I guess that's my first RL hair compliment since I started growing out.  Cool.

I only have it up with a fake-suede scrunchie in a loose, high ponytail at the crown with a LOT of wispies down in the back and a few on the sides.  The scrunchie is one of the few that will not slide out of my hair because of its texture.  It's a gold caramel color and I'm wearing my new glasses today and they are wire rimmed and kind of bronze colored; I got complimented on them, too.

Makes me glad I didn't cut it while I was going through that wannacut phase.

The snow melted today but we had a lovely snow for several days; it was beautiful.

Ah, it's always brilliant when you get compliments. It makes all the bad hair days and "wannacut phases" worth it!

That's great you got a compliment! Your style sounds
pretty!  That's something I should try, for those of us
whose hair isn't quite as long.  I'm always glad I haven't
cut mine through my wanna cut stages, either.

Thanks Rua and Babyfine,

It really does make it all seem worthwhile when someone notices enough to pay you a compliment!

Putting your hair up in a crown ponytail with a scrunchie really is pretty nice, especially for shorter hair because it really doesn't matter how much falls out of the pony; it just looks kind of messy and tousled on purpose and I like the little extra height it gives.  Perks your face right up; better than a facelift! Well, I got about 1" trimmed off.  I was only bargaining for 1/8", so I'm not cutting again until it is long enough to pull around to the front and I can cut it myself.  I will do S&D's in the meantime, though.

But that is 1" less of bleached hair to contend with.  The cut itself is atrocious, so I'm going to pretend it is fairytale ends until it is long enough to do something else.

My hair was handled a little too roughly for my liking, and this is someone I know who is a stylist.  I took his plastic comb away from him in the middle of the haircut because I could hear hair snapping.  I made him finish with one of my combs, much smoother.

Oh, I wasn't going to think about that!

Well, one of the few times I'm at a loss for words.  I wonder what's up with that? Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Well, I changed my hair type AGAIN.
Now I'm listing it as 1b F ii.

Ethical dilemma.  I feel compelled to list a hairtype but I am afraid since I've posted my hair picture in my avatar that I might confuse someone about their own hair type if I don't get it right.

So depressed. Cry Cry Cry

Don't be depressed Strawberryfine!  My hair changes a  lot too.  You hair looks great in your Avatar!
I'm sorry you got more cut off than you wanted.  Here's
a ((hug)) but 1" isn't too much and you'll have it grown back in no time. Also, like you said, less bleached hair
to contend with.  I'll confess, I have a trim appointment for next week.  I am so frustrated with my ends, they're so straggly looking.  My hair looks good from the earlobes up.  I think my bleached ends have reached critical mass.  I have thought about just cutting it all back and starting over again with healthy hair.  But then
I would lose a years growth.  I know my hair would look better.  But I'm seriously thinking about getting 1" cut off
my ends.  I think, one inch, that's only two months, and
it will look.  so much thicker and healthier.  No more bleach for me! At least I hope not.  You'll have that length back in no time.  And  healthier!!

I've also had stylists rip through my hair, and use water
too hot for rinsing!  Don't they know hot water is bad for the hair?

Thanks, Babyfine,
You really made me feel better.
I've got a sinus infection and I think not feeling well is making everything seem like a bigger deal than it really is.
