Hi everyone,
I'm new (obviously). I'm from Australia, I have a six year old daughter who desperatly wants a pair of hairsticks and a cat.

Now down to the hair! Mine is red with blonde streaks from the sun. It's 78cms (30 inches) long which on me is hip length.
It's fine and straight and thick, my pony-tail measures 13cms (5 inches).
I've been growing my hair for about 3 and a half years and hope to find it's terminal length.
My favourite products are by De Lorenzo.
My favourite hairstyles are buns (using my new and very beautiful Longlocks hairsticks) and french braids.

I was reading through some posts and some of the terms were confusing is there a glossary somewhere? If there's not could someone please tell me what does classic length and the other terms for length mean? Thanks.

Emma.

WELCOME! You hair sounds like it is a beautiful color, so glad to have you here with us! Smiley

I'm not sure about some of the definitions myself but I'm sure that bikerbraid will explain them, she is knowledgeable about most everything on the board.  Wink

Hi Emma_May  and welcome!
I'm a bit envious of you at the moment being down under.  I'm sitting here in Colorado - the temp is currently 7F degrees with a windchill of -15F.  (It's even warmer at my home in Minnesota!)

Classic length is usually defined as to the bottom of your rear end.  If there are other terms you are not sure of - just ask, we'll fill you in.

Your hair sounds lovely.  I look forward to getting to know you better.

Thanks for the welcome, nice to meet you all.
Thanks to Bikerbraid for the definition. Colorado sounds very cold. It's very warm here. Yesterday it got to 37 degrees celsius which I believe is about 98 degrees fahrenheit (bit of a difference from where you are!)

Styg- Once I thought about it I was confused as well. It seemed simple when I wrote it! My hair comes to the bottom of my hip bone but I suppose that it could equally mean the top or even the middle of the bone. I don't know.

oops, I've been reading through some more of the past messages and found out that I've measured my hair all wrong. Does anyone else find all this complicated? Anyway, for the sake of accuracy my hair is actually 89cms (approx 34 inches)long. Can't wait to see how long it gets. It sounds as if there are many people here with beautiful long hair!

Well I read somewhere that when you measure you start at the top of your head where your hair line starts is this right?

Welcome!   Grin  Your hair does sound beautiful.  I was a little confused about how to measure the length of my hair also.
