Thanks, BB!

At this moment I am very proud of myself!  I got here, looked at all of the decostix and didn't buy any.  (Sorry, Rapunzel)
While they're beautiful, there wasn't a pair that really spoke to me.  Perhaps I was influenced by the fact that I received my recent orders and have two to add to the collection:

Purple Currant NeonStix
Gilded Turquoise FoilStix

They're so pretty.

Today I did a pedi/manicure while my deep conditioning treatment sat on my head under a warm towel.  I also did a scalp treatment and scrub.  Letting my hair air dry down was fun (4 hours and 87degrees and it is still drying)- I washed it after work so I could pamper myself.  Plus I needed 3-1/2 hours to do it all.  There's no way I'd get up that early!!!

Tomorrow's going to be a long day for me-4 classes in a row starting at 6:30AM.  I've never been a morning person, but I'm subbing 3 mornings for a friend.  I hope she's having a good time wherever she is!  Plus I appreciate the extra income.

Maybe a simple 1/2 pony bun for tomorrow???

Well, it's not like me to miss a journal entry but I was exhausted after teaching on Tuesday.
Yesterday I took my first ever ballet lesson.  It was awesome.  I'm greatful my legs aren't too sore this morning!  I wore my hair in a bun with LL sticks, how cute I was in my leotard.  (Ahem)
Today I'm teaching at 6:30 again and I'd really rather stay home.  I have my regular class at 8:30, but then I'm done for the week.  My weekend starts at 9:30am Thursday morning.
I feel better now just having read that.
Gotta go get ready for work.
It's going to be a great day!

I'm watching my cat play with the floor, looks very serious about it too.

I'm feeling bored with my hair.  I have a trim coming up, I think that will help.

I have a massage today.  I have at least one a month to help keep my body injury free.  This is my pms week, so a massage will help my symptoms.

Thinking about taking another ballet class today.  May change my mind after the massage.

Going to go with hubby to meet his coworkers at a restaurant tonight.  I hope it's fun.  I'm not into small talk much, I hope I can have a real conversation or two!  Now I'm thinking, what hairsticks shall I wear??

My leotard is black, my plan is to wear every pair of hairsticks at least once to class.  I've just realized that at a rate of one class per week I won't get through all of my hairsticks in one year!  So, maybe 2 classes a week?  What incentive!  Grin

Perhaps I'll do another day of scalp treatment, scalp scrub and hot olive oil conditioner.  My scalp is still in good condition-almost no flakes-from the trio I did last week.

Well...didn't go to ballet yesterday after massage, just came home and rested.  Did go to restaurant to meet hubby's coworkers-really fun.  Forgot to get pic of hair.  It was still quite damp from washing and I put it up in a bun-kinda loose and a little off center.  Very casual and a little bit funky.  Wore Glass Gardens Duetstix.  I've been waiting to wear them and last night was the night.
Luckily I put gel in my hair, on instinct, 'cause we were outside on the patio.  It was rather windy last night!  My hair stayed put, perfectly.  This was one of the few times I didn't put a pony in first before twisting and wrapping the bun.  It may be the main reason my bun was off center?  Hmm.  It stayed until I took it down-took 5 or 6 bobby pins.  My hair isn't long enough to hold a decent looking bun with hairstix only.  Still waiting on that...
After meeting his friends we went  to a restaurant that has live jazz on Friday nights.  We really made an evening of it.  Really fun.

Today we have a wedding to attend.  I forgot about it.  Not feeling too prepared clothing wise, and its at 2:00pm.  Hopefully hubby will not forget to take pic of hair today!!

Gotta go figure out what I'm wearing and which hairsticks-  I'm initially thinking 1/2 pony bun w/ rest of hair twisted into french twist w/comb and then adding hairstix.  Geisha?  Combo?  Decisions, decisions!!

Ugh.  I'm in such a funk at the moment.  Class today was great, but I've slunked into a funk.  I feel like I can't get my schedule to work.  Won't really know until I try and rearrange a few things.  Closet pessimist?

Had a good time at the wedding, went to dinner after w/ a friend I hadn't seen in a while so we made another big day of it (two in a row?  maybe I'm becomming a party girl again)
and I'm glad I did.

My hair is like how I wore it to my last recital, although it was better before.  You still get the idea.  It's a 1/2 pony bun (this time w/o a pony holder) with the remainder twisted.  Just something different.  I have too much hair to make a french twist with just the comb.

G_L, I was wondering if anyone would ask about the name with the picture present.  Ha, guess it's you.
The sticks in the photo are:
Colorado Gold Majestix

It's getting harder for me to remember the names, there are so many!

I'm sooooooo happy!  My good news:  I'm singing "It's All Right With Me" first, "Jimmy" second.  Why is this good news?  Make up and hair + wardrobe transitions!!!
Yippee!! Yahoo!  Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bonus good news, my shoes from How Cool arrived.  Black pattent mary janes w/ 3 inch heel and red glitter platform mary janes w/ 5 inch heel.  Perhaps I'll have to be Dorothy from Wizard of Oz for Halloween-the sexy version.  Wonder if hubby will be Toto?  Probably the Cowardly Lion since he's a Leo.  Hee hee.

Voice lesson went very well today.  A few tweeks here and there-I didn't realize how much the worry over makeup & hair transitions was stressing me out!  Problem solved, funk eleminated  Grin  Grin  Grin

Well, Styg, some of the color is natural.  It isn't henna, it's what's left over from permanent red, semi-permanent ashy blond (but I think that has washed out since it has been 7 weeks since last salon visit) and I think the hairspray makes it look shiny.  Thanks for the compliment, just the same  Smiley

*sigh*  Today was my last day to sub at 6:30AM, so last day I teach 4 classes in a row, too.  Pony w/scrunchi it is!!
Whew!  With PMS on top I'm barely functioning at this point.  Thank goodness hubby cooks!  He will be tonight at least!  Ha.

Hark!  I hear the garage door, he's arrived!  "Feed me, Seymore!"

I think I'm still recovering from yesterday!  I'm not feeling too good-I hope I don't have that 24 hour flu that's going around out here.

Been having an extra flaky scalp lately.  Don't like it.  I wonder if it's from wearing hairspray 2 days in a row last weekend.  I ran out of the kind I like which usually doesn't bother me (not that I wear it often) and had a bottle from the Bellagio-its probably the culprit.

Forgot to mention on Monday night that I did my scalp treatment, skipped the exfoliating treatment (probably a BIG mistake  Angry) but did do a warm olive oil treatment w/ sandalwood & lavender eo.  Used a hot towel for 30 mins.  When I applied the warm oil my hair sucked it up!  It was strange.  Hair is soft and shiny, and clean still today.

Looking forward to more hairsticks arriving.

Made the mistake of telling hubby that my incentive for attending ballet class twice a week is so I can wear every pair of hairsticks at least once for a year.  He did not have any idea I have that many.  After a quick guesstimate he was not too thrilled with me.  He needs a hobby!

I think I'm sick.  Thank goodness I don't have to teach again until Sunday.  I got a chance to give subbing on Saturday to someone else (she called me-that's never happened before!!) and so I'm free!  Headache is creeping up on me... Sad

Dusted my ends a bit today, have that trim coming on Tuesday.  Why is it that my hair starts to feel long just before I'm scheduled for a trim?  A micro trim, me thinks!!

Still waiting on my book, hairstyles from the last 5,000 years.
My makeup from every era should be here by next Wednesday.  Hooray for reference books!  I love books.

I think I'm going to go lay down again.  Feeling a bit whoosy.

Oh, I did want to say that I'm amazed at how tangle free my hair is when I sleep with it french braided.  Yeah.

I'm officially under the weather.  90 degrees here today, but I can't shake this headache.  If I had to have it I'm glad its my day off.

I still have that dumb headache, so I've not showered in several days.  I don't think my hair's ever been so flat.
The winds are high again which may be contributing to this prolonged head pain.
I've been struggling lately, realizing choices I made in the past have harmed me.  Where do I begin to tell myself the truth?  To turn around a habbit of unloving myself-giving my power to others.  Its an ugly feeling I have, and a sad one too.  I hope I can find the courage to change this.
More hairsticks on the way.  Although I love Susan's work, adding more beauty to the world I sometimes think I buy hairsticks to make myself feel better.
Perhaps I can come up with a better plan.
