Hi Sakina!

But if I do  Smiley I'm telling ya Sakina that you have beaten me in some pairs I really really liked!!  Cheesy Cheesy Roll Eyes Wink
You like aqua colours too?
I am glad to read you wear your sticks all the time, it seems. I do too!
Where in the world are you? (If you want to tell, of course)
And I think curly hair are awesome and your decision to let them natural is wise and you will reap the fruits of it very soon. Long curly hair is AWESOME! Cheesy Wink

Hi there, Greek_Lady!  BikerBraid posted journal guidelines at the very first thread on this page, I think it says "Read Me First" but I could be wrong on the name.
I knew someone would appreciate the listing-I know I always wonder who got the stix I really wanted, I imagine they went to a good home (you know, someone who will love and care for them as much as I do).  Do you ever ask Susan to make you a special order for the ones you missed out on?
I do like the aqua, seems I have rather a few of that particular color.  I'm wondering how long is your hair?  Mine's about 19-19.5 inches.
I live in Arizona.  I'd love to say today was sunny, but storms are moving in and its been cloudy, grey and windy.  Sounds like we're in for some rough rain.  The dessert always needs it, though.
As my hair is getting longer I'm loving having curly hair.
Thanks for posting in my journal, g_l Cheesy

Update from this morning.  NO TANGLES from wearing my french braid to sleep in.  What a pleasant surprise!!!  Again the volume of my hair kept me from a bun, so a big fluffy ponytail with the red Good Cheer Spiralstix it was today.  Got quite a few greetings from fellas today, 'course that could be from the low cut yoga top I was wearing.  Ya think?  I like to think it's 'cause my hair looked so pretty I was glowing with joy. Tongue

French braids are just the perfect hairdo!  Cheesy My head was a tangled mess before I started to French braid it for night. Have you ever considered posting pictures of your hairstick collection?

I took a nap today and decided to not braid my hair to compare the experience and I definately prefer the braiding.
I'm surprised but happy.

Galadriel-I have been getting pics taken of me wearing my sticks (when I can fenagle someone into taking them) but I don't have a digital camera or a scanner.
I've got some pics to send in to Susan and hope she'll post them, but as we know she's very busy.
So, I'd like to share some photos and will when I can.

Tried a new moisturizing technique yesterday-mix oil and conditioner and leave it in overnight.  It really coated my hair and when I was washing it out my hair felt very silky.  It says to rinse with lemon juice, vinegar and conditioner which I did.  After towel drying and scrunching the top of my hair was soooooooo flat.  With the treatment in, the top was very wavy.
So, we'll see how it dries.  I'm hoping my ends will be really nourished and soft.

Update on newest additions to my collection:
Gilded Midnight Futuristix
Pink Valentine Shadowstix
This is my first pair of Futuristix, and I must say I like them better in person.  They have a bit of weight to them which I like.
I'm looking forward to wearing the valentine stix tomorrow for a special dinner at an Indonesian restaurant in town.  The lampwork bead is so yummy!

I've come to the decision that the very moisturizing treatment I did is too heavy for my wavy hair for regular use.  The top layer of my hair is still pretty flat, even after misting with rosewater and scrunching to revitalze.  If I have to have more of the red color removed from my hair at my next salon visit, I'll use the treatment again because it did make my hair softer.

I love sleeping with my hair french braided!  What a difference it makes!  I sooooo wanted to stay in bed today (my Valentine's gift of a red silk sheet set was like sleeping in a rose) and was very uninspired to fix my hair for work.  After making a regular run-of-the-mill (where does that saying come from, I wonder?) ponytail I switched it to a partially french braided bun.  I did use hairspray on it and it is holding wonderfully.  I'm even keeping it for my hot date tonight.
This afternoon I wore my Meadow Sage Sterlingstix-they are so gorgeous.
Tonight I'll wear my Pink Valentine Shadowstix with a red off the shoulder silk sweater.  I love to dress up. Grin
I haven't had my hair trimmed for about 6 weeks, and have an appointment in about 2 weeks and find a slight feeling of dread.  I want to trim up these layers, but I don't want to loose any length.  I know I've got enough length to give up to 1" and still be able to do my bun but I'm feeling nervous about it already.  This is a first for me.  Must be the influence of all the long locked lovelies from these boards.  Hmmm.

I tried sleeping with an upside down french braid, putting the ends in a kind of top knot to keep from having the scrunchie at the back of my neck when sleeping.  It held all night, but I was pretty tangly when I took it down. Sad
Today I did it.  My first ever CO.  It really wasn't on purpose, I left the shampoo out of the shower and was not about to get out and get it 'cause I was already wet.  So, I put conditioner on my ends, used a clarifying conditioner to clean my scalp and then applied a bit more overall after rinsing the first application.  My waves are very pronounced.  I also took extra time scrunching the water out of my hair before towel-drying it.  It's lovely Smiley  Now I just wish it were dry so I could wear more hairsticks today, but that's not going to happen before I go to work. Undecided
Had a lovely Valentine's dinner last night, the pink valentine shadowstix were a bit hit and complimented my dark red sweater perfectly.  *Ahh, contented sigh*

I think there might be something to this COing!  I have a lot less scalp itch than before Grin
My hair has lots of volume and wave.
Had my first encounter of someone touching my hair without permission.  It was a student of mine that I haven't seen in more than 6 months, she just walked up and said, "I love the color of your hair.  It looks so thick" and before I knew it, as I was saying "Thanks" she grabbed a handful.  It was really wierd.  I didn't say anything 'cause she didn't hurt me but it was a strange experience.
I had my first hair nightmare last night-dreamt that I was combing out my hair and big chunks of it came out in the back, creating bald spots.  Then the sides of my hair broke off above the ear and the worst was that I had bangs above my eyebrows.  I'm aware that I'm dreaming when I dream, and I could hear my own breathing getting very upset.  Yikes!!!  Maybe I'm more concerned about getting that trim next month than I realized!  Sure hope I don't have many more dreams like that, it was disturbing Undecided
On a nicer note, today I made a half pony and took some of the hair underneath it, made a little braid and wraped the braid around the clear elastic I used to hold the pony.  It really makes the transition from elastic to hair more natural looking.  Then I inserted my Chinoiserie Original Sticks and voila! I felt much better after having that terrible dream Smiley

That's so true!

Have you considered having your hair trimmed at home?
If the person who trims your hair isn't professional, chances are that he will do exactly as you tell him to, because he doesn't know how to do anything else.  Grin Seriously though, many longhaired people prefer home trims. Just a thought... Smiley

So it was you that got those lovely Valentines!!!  Cheesy Cheesy I loved them so much! Grin Grin
And I think further up you mention another one I wanted very much, lol
I wish I liked updos so that I could wear pairs of sticks and show them off more. The way I wear them is not showing them off to their full advantage.
As for my hair, in re to your question, it is 74cm. Styg says it's about 29inches
I need 37cm  Undecided Undecided for my ultimate goal - classic length. Will it hold out that long, I wonder ???
And yes I do ask Susan for SO's, but I try not to. I keep the ones I really want in a "sticks-that-I-want-and-missed" folder. Susan would die if she knew the size of it  Grin Grin Grin
Do you ask for SO's? ???

Greek_Lady,
I love the pink valentine sticks.  I have done a couple SO's but I mostly like to pick from what Susan designed.  I did ask for a SO for the Peking Opera Original sticks-I have a few silk outfits hubby brought back from China so I NEED this pair!!  I'm always sooo disappointed when I miss out on a pair, but I couldn't do a folder-that would depress me too much!!
Sounds like your hair is getting long enough to do justice to a bun.  That's how I show off my sticks the most these days.  I'm at about 19.5 so I do half ponys in a bun less now, but part of that comes from changing to CWC or COing and my hair is too volumnous for as many as 3 days after washing to get it into a bun.  It's so funny!  POOF!
Today I taught a meditation class, so I thought I'd be a bit adventurous with my sticks since I wouldn't be moving around a lot, so I made a bun and wore the Midnight Sparkle Sterlingstix criss-crossed and the Gothic Midnight Geishastix II hanging out over the back of the bun.  It was awesome, if I do say so myself  Grin  *Happy*

Update on the new arrivals:
Winter Raindrops Swingstix
Spring Lilac Geishastix
Primrose Petals Geishastix

I haven't washed my hair since last Tuesday, and it still seems rather fluffy.  There might be a bit of smell, but I can't believe it-I've never in my life gone this long without washing and my hair still looks good.
I put my hair up into two high mini-buns and stuck the Sparkling Rainbow shadowsitx straight up through each bun.  My dad said I looked like "My Favorite Martian".  Oh yeah, feel the love.
It looked cute with the little ends popping out.
I missed out on getting to look up close at the new offerings of Holostix.  I wish there was an easy to see the sticks even if they've been sold.
Will I wash tomorrow?  I'll probably have more students than normal with it being a holiday.
Chili's calling my name...

I think I will not make it to tomorrow without washing.  I did a french braid and wore a beanie hat over it to work today, but I think the roots look a bit greasy today.  So, I think I'll try that super deep treatment with olive oil instead of the almond oil and leave it in overnight.  Then I'll rinse in the morning with lemon juice, vinegar and conditioner.  I think I'll try the brown sugar scalp scrub first.  I'm amazed that my scalp is so much less itchy since I didn't use shampoo.  I think I may be a convert to COing. Shocked

OK-I've done it.  Did the scrub.  Mixed olive oil with Last Call hairmask.  I look like a Gorgon.  Very snakey.  I hope it's not too squishy when I go to bed.  I also hope that the rinse tomorrow will get it all out!!  I'm super conditioning in anticipation of the possible further removal of remaining red when I get my trim next month.  I hope I never have such dry, straw feeling hair again! It seems to me that using equal parts lemon juice, vinegar and clarifying conditioner really did the job of getting all of the olive oil and hairmask out of my hair Smiley
Unlike the last time (when I used almond oil and silk elements conditioner) my hair doesn't look dull or weighed down after the intense treatment.  It actually looks fantastic today.
One thing I discovered is that for my hair I must divide my gel application, using 1/2 tablespoon for sides and underneath and then another 1/2 for the top and front.  This gives me a nice, even coating of the gel with out some parts getting most of it and the the top layer in back missing out.  I'm really pleased with the result!!
