Hi  Smiley  I just wanted to ask:  what kind of liver cleanse are you doing?  The only one I've done is a 3 day cleanse where all you eat are apples and apple juice/cider (unsweetened).  This one sounds more varied, if longer.

Yes, this is more varied and longer than the one you've done.  I PM'd you-did you get it?

I heard that cleanses are not good for your body at all.
What do you say? And why are you doing it?

I get the feeling you're thinking about fasts.  There are many of the opinion that fasting is not good for the body.  Basically it is starvation.  A cleanse is different.  When cleansing the body's systems, the organs of elimination get a rest and you clean out the buildup of toxins that clog these organs.  If your organs of elimination are not working properly, generations of toxins get reabsorbed by the body.  This can lead to dis-ease of the body, mind and emotions.  We are constantly exposed to toxins in the air, water and enviroment let alone our food.  As adults we often don't make good food choices and as a result we get toxic.
The cleanse I'm on was prescribed by my chiropractor, it includes taking digestive enzyme & green foods supplements.  Basically you eat as many veggies you want for breakfast & lunch with fruit for dinner.  Raw nuts and sushi are the protein, and avocados the healthy fats.  There's a drink taken 3x daily before meals that includes apple juice, unsweetened cranberry, ACV, lemon juice and water.  Honey is the only sweetener to be used in small amounts.  Apples may be eaten anytime of day, as much as you want.
This cleanse uses nutrition to clean and tonify the body.  Its not easy...I've already cheated a couple of times.  I'm only cheating myself, and I get back on track with the next meal.  Hubby had to go out of town on short notice and I think I cheated from emotional impulse.  I think I learn alot about my habits & tendancies regarding food when I do a cleanse.  I intend to do the cleanse 2x a year-at the autumnal equanox and the spring equanox.  This is my second cleanse this year.

I've never heard of a liver cleanse, only a kidney.  How does it work?

Edit:  Forgot the -r in liver.  Silly me!

Pan- a liver cleanse helps to detox the 2nd largest organ of elimination (our skin is the 1st) to help decrease allergies, wakeup sluggish digestion/elimination and keep excess fat off the body.  Most liver cleanses are nutrition based:veggies, apples-no grains, sugars and limited other fruits.

Juri-thanks very much!  It's never too late to give (or recieve  Wink) a compliment!!

Maroula-thank you!

New additions to the collection (#115 & 116)
Pastel Skies Swingstix
and my first swap
Seamaid's Seduction Spiralstix

Yay!  Now I have a pair to compliment my seafoam geishastix.

I have just spent the last 3 days in Heaven.  Seriously.
I've been participating in a workshop called the Yoga of the Voice.  It combines the voice singing mantra, invocation and chants to the divine through many methods (scales, ragas).
I sang almost 14 hours over these last 3 days and I never felt better.  My teacher is Silvia Nakkach, and I am in love with her.  She's amazing and I'm signing up to take the 200 hour course to become certified in the Yoga of the Voice.  This is bliss.

As far as my hair, today I washed w/#2 & #10-B + retreat (love it) and then some #14 gel scrunched in.

I had an amazing teaching experience-Silvia's teachings were transmitting through me.  So beautiful.  The students found it rather challenging and I was having a ball.  Working with her and my voice has brought back a deep joy for me and my teaching of hatha (physical) yoga.

If any of you reading this are interested in finding out more, check out www.voxmundiproject.com and you'll find all kinds of good stuff.

I'm in a moment that everything is coming together.  Yummy!

Thanks, BB!  I was definately feeling the groove when I wrote it!

Speaking of the groove-tonight I started my 2nd round of Intermediate Guitar classes at the MAC (Mesa Arts Center).  I hadn't touched my guitar for months, but after briefly reviewing the chords I was rollin' along.  I love playing with a group.  Its so fun and Andy (my teacher) has us sing while we're playing which of course I LOVE!

Hair got noticed today, I had it down and my boss (the aerobics coordinator of the gym) asked if I had lightened it.  Nope!  Maybe its lightening 'cause of the high vibrations with all my chanting and guitar playing.  Well, its a theory.

Kitties are getting along better!  I think Sweetie has accepted Jupiter but hasn't got Ziggy figured out yet.

YAY!

Well, I didn't get as much practicing in today as originally planned.  Instead, I napped.  This was the first time since we started letting the boys out during the day that Jupiter actually let me get some sleep.  He usually jumps on me several times, kneading my neck, face, the blanket and then tries to suck on my earlobe, lip, nostril, tip of my nose and even my eyebrow.  I'm suspicious that he was taken from his mother too soon or he thinks I'm his kitty mommy.  Anyway, he was less aggressive with those behaviours today.  Yay, 'cause I got some sleep and nobody was fighting.

I didn't feel like washing my hair before going to my chiropractic appointment so I took my sleeping braided pigtails and turned them into a single french braid.  I haven't done a french braid in weeks since I don't sleep in one anymore and I must say it turned out quite nicely and stayed though more napping in the afternoon.

Yah, I'm a napper!  I do so much problem solving in my sleep!

I guess since not much is happening with my hair I've fallen a bit behind in writing in my journal.

Collection update (#117 & 118)

Lilac Explosion Artistix
and
Magic Clouds Decostix

They're so lovely.  They'll go with lots of my clothes!!!

I'm a bit obsessed lately with Halloween.  It is my favorite holiday and since I've found www.frightcatalog.com I've gone crazy!  Me thinks hubby will be scared out of his witts when the bill comes!  Now I'm just waiting for the stuff to come.  I've got a diagram drawn and have the layout and now just have to be patient-without buying more stuff!!!

Hair is healthy and looking great, so oiling ends at night with my braided pigtails is working for me!!!

The Fright Catalog is great! I've been getting the paper version for a couple of years. But it's definately not something I can look at while eating, tho.  Wink

LOL, Juri.  Some of their stuff is pretty gruesome.
I got some great stuff today at Michael's craft store.  I hope it all turns out totally awesome!

Didn't do much today-voice lessona and shopping at Michael's.  Hubby & I went for a walk this evening.  This is the time to come to the desert-cloudless night sky and a breeze and warm with a pinch of cool.  I love walking at night, even in the hotter months but this is the best.  We even got a bit of rain earlier this eve.  It was a pleasant surprise.  I could still smell the rain when we walked.  Aaahhhh!
