Sadly, G_L I did not get the Nyad sticks Sad
I'll have to go look at the Cardinal sticks.
Thanks for the congrats-sure feels good Grin

Split ends are not bad today, I think I'll need to oil more often.  Of course, it may be a good idea anyway since I live in the desert.  Hmmm.

Is there sunscreen for hair?  I might need it!

Today I get new music for the May recital.  I hope I like it!

Detox update: no headache today.  Feeling, um, full of fiber.
I have to put a lot of thought into eating, lest habits take over!!  Yikes!!

be careful, most hair sunscreens contain a huge amount of alcohol. i wonder if it wouldn't be better to add a bit of a high sunscreen to jojoba and put that instead.

Thanks, Styg.  I'll keep that in mind.

I washed today and put up a pretty damp bun.  This is the first time since January that I didn't dry my hair down the Curly Girl way.  I want to decrease the breakage and splits on my ends, so I'm trying to keep it up more.  It felt weird and heavy when wet, but I've adjusted I guess-will try sleeping with the bun tonight.

Ugh!  I'm so bummed.  Yet AGAIN I missed out on the decoupage sticks!  I have yet to see them early enough to purchase a pair I just can't live without.  That Amethyst Sea is gorgeous! * Pout Pout *

Continuing on with the detox, no headache today-seems to be going well.  Actually, I think I've lost 5-1/2 pounds in 3 days.  Of course it helps that I gave up drinking soda.  All those empty calories.  Still going without wheat or dairy products.  I feel more mentally clear and skin seems a bit less dry.  Much less sinus problems, too today.  People I haven't talked to in a while notice I'm getting slimmer.  Trying not to get freaked out by that!!

Taught 3 classes today, not sure if this new schedule will work for me so we'll see how it goes...

My last post was actually last night-3 hour time difference.
Today I took my bun down, felt how my hair was still damp and then put it back up in a bun.  It's defo working now!
I had a good class, spent the first 20 mins chatting and it was nice.
My myopractic adjustment was amazing.  No more lordosis-yea yoga!  Boy was she surprised Shocked  I think my adjustment went so well because of the detox and no longer drinking soda.
Yep.
I'm so glad I entered therapy.  With this most recent breakthrough I finally feel I'm getting back to being my self, my WHOLE self, that is.

Look out world!

(Well, duh.  The first time I make the glow white without realizing the frame this post is in is also, um, white Roll Eyes)

CurlyGirl22-
I'm doing a 14 day "detox in a box" (that's what I call it), by Enzymatic Therapy called Whole Body Cleansing.  It was about $23 from the health food store.  There are 3 bottles of supplements and a booklet for directions.
I am doing this detox because I was recently diagnosed with food sensitivities to wheat, dairy and corn.  I also just gave up drinking Coke and wanted to facilitate the release of that junk-I didn't even get withdrawl headaches.
I've been having some allergy problems and my skin's gotten dryer than usual and itchy (I'm thinking about those Chagrin bars...) AND its Spring so it is naturally a good time of year to do a cleanse.
And you're right, yoga is great for the mind.  Thanks  Smiley

I'm very intrigued by Galadriel's review of the Chagrin bars-my skin is very sensitive and delicate and I dry to uncomfortable tightness and flaking if I don't mosturize with the Body Shop's Cocoa Butter Body Butter with my skin still damp!  My diet clearly effects my skin, like too much caffiene will make it worse.  I've been using a gentle shower gel, but I'm going to investigate these bars.

Today's hair do is titled: Flower Bun Song.
Since I've been keeping it in a bun for the last few days I wanted a bit of a change.  A low bun was out of the question because of the waves put in by letting it dry in a bun in the middle of the back of my head.  So, I made a fairly high pony and sectioned the hair, pinning it into "petals".  I got 5 or 6 and my hair looks like a bun and a flower. Grin

I checked out Chagrin's website and got overwhelmed.  Guess I'll try some sample bars when I'm ready.

Today is forcasted 90 degrees and sunny.  YAY-Spring!
With my new schedule, I'm done for the week at 9:30AM.  I kinda feel like I don't quite know what to do with myself.  This is the start of my weekend.  It's almost like having 3 days off in a row.  I could practice singing or guitar.  I think I'll watch a movie and save practicing for later.  Yeah, and eat some popcorn with some carrot/ginger juice.  Or a green drink.  Or water.  Hmmm, choices.

Woooohooooooooo!

Today I am very proud of myself.  I had a La Stone Therapy massage scheduled at 11:00 so I got up early, warmed some olive oil with 3 drops each Lavender, Rosemary and Sandalwood then applied that to my dry hair.  Stuck it in a shower cap and did a bellydance workout for 30 mins.  After exercising I put some vinegar in a pitcher for rinsing my hair after cleansing, 1:4 ratio. I had been using about 1/2 that.
I did not put gel in my hair today and my hair is sooooooo soft and fluffy, just like kitty fur.

Grin

And now I'm going to have a chicken mango salad with some iced green tea.  Then I'm going to watch the Mummy, which I didn't watch yesterday.  I slept.  You need a lot of rest on a detox.

Update on detox:  It's going great.  My massage therapist noticed that my skin and muscles seemed different.  I've been going to her monthly for several years.  Eating right and giving up soda has given me positive change inside and out!

I'm defo more comfortable sleeping in a bun than a braid.
I just ordered 3 snoods from Lady MacSnood.  I hope I like them!!
May 19 I have another recital, doing 2 songs again.  One song is from Thoroughly Modern Millie, singing "Jimmy" and my second song I got to pick-"It's All Right With Me".  I love jazz.
I have an amazing red sequined dress, floor length with a big slit up one thigh and straps.  I'm envisioning opera length gloves-white or black.  I also have black velvet gauntlets...
and so I ordered a black snood and a red/silver snood.  Maybe they'll work.  At any rate I can wear 'em to Ren Fest if they don't work for this.
My other costume is 1920's.  Not sure if I'm wearing fringe or not.  Gotta figure out how to wear my shoulder length hair in a faux bob.  I'm willing to bet I can get away with a braided bun.  Hair has another month to grow for it...
Will meet on Monday to discuss.
I ordered the giant book on hairstyles recommended by FrancisGrimble, also ordered same author's makeup book.  Hope it has good photos of period makeup.
Very excited...la la la Grin

Serious bun joy!  I'm now down to 5 pins, plus a pony holder and it stays in through teaching and napping!!!
Been investigating 1920's stuff-found some cool capezio shoes that are purrrfect for this era, and I can wear with other characters.  More joy.  At only $29!
I'm going to try pinning my hair under to emulate a 1920's do, will keep eKatherine's suggestion of a bobbed wig in mind.  If I purchase the costume I was looking at it includes a cloche hat, which I think I can use to fake it.  However, I have a ton of hair, so it'll be a challenge either way.
A bit uncertain with how I'm going to transition from one character to the next.  If I have to pin it or wig it, I think the snood will be a must.  Red lipstick from last rehearsal will be perfect.  Yay.
Heard from Lady MacSnood today, should receive snoods in time to play.  She's making them just for me.  I feel very special.  Grin

Oh, yeah.  Detox update: completed 1st week  Smiley.  So far so good.  I'm not craving fried foods as much as before, still soda free.  Also noticed sugary foods not so appealing.  Dark chocolate always the exception!

I'm really liking how my hair feels with out the gel I've been using.  Getting some virgin hairs that hang down a bit at the hairline, but it doesn't look messy.
After washing yesterday I scrunched rosemary eo into my damp hair.  It smells heavenly.  Why didn't I realize this sooner??
I put it up in a bun again.  It holds so well now I sort of forget about my hair.  I put my Midnight Sparkle Sterlingstix in horizontally-it was fun and kept the sticks out of my way when doing the Rabbit pose  8)
I'm not fretting so much about my seemingly slow growth by keeping my hair up. What a relief that I won't be stuck in pony tails all summer.  It's going to me a hot one I think.
I think I'll have a decent braided bun by August.

I'm so excited!  Today I ordered my first pair of Holostix!
Spring Nebulae are on their way (well, not just yet but you know what I mean)!  Finally I was online at the right time to see them all and grab a pair that resonated with me Grin
Today I didn't wash or co in the usual way.  I wet my hair, applied conditioner, combed it through and rinsed it out.  That's all!  I did scrunch in some lavender and sandalwood after towel drying and my hair is so soft.  Took very little time.  Yay.
Whew!  I made it through the day.  I had a review and got a nice raise-can't believe I've been teaching at this place for 3 years.
I've got to plan better for my Tuesday schedule-I have so little time inbetween classes that even with snacks I'm way too hungry for real food by the time I'm done.  I make poor decisions when I'm hungry like that.  Gotta have a backup plan or I'll wind up eating fast food again.  It's very challenging to get quick meals that are wheat, dairy and corn free.  Not counting salads of course, but I need hot food.
I hope to have a brainstorm on this issue.
Gotta go eat NOW!!!

I'm so sad today.  I guess grief comes in waves and this one crested last night and I still feel the after affects.
I french braided my hair today and tucked the tail under.  It looks nice.  I got concerned that if I wore the bun too often I might cause damage by keeping it in the same place unintentionally.  This is a lovely alternative.
Been researching flights to go to Kripalu in July and August.  I'm not sure I'll be able to do both trips.  Better cut back on my spending Undecided
I found a great costume, hat and "Betty Boop" style wig for the recital but there's more money...
So many emotional issues are up for me right now, I hope to address them in my session today.  Discovering how I sabbotage myself and let others opinions of me matter more than my own opinions of myself is valuable if not a bit sad.  Oh how I have disempowered myself.

Detox update:  going very well.  Sugar cravings diminished-I turned down a banana split!  Still soda free.  Desire for fast food greatly decreased.  Making better food choices-setting myself up to succeed.  Yay!

Today I made two low pigtails and turned them into little buns.  They are cute-some of the ends poke out a bit but it looks like I did it on purpose.
Doing better today.  I'm greatful for EMDR.  I feel like I've a new lease on life-a fresh start.  How lovely it is to really love myself.
Struggling a bit with new song-can't tell if it sounds good or not.
Got my t-bar shoes, nice fit.  I think I'll get a good amount of use out of 'em.
Frusterated with ends of hair-upon close inspection of front of hair ends are broken and split sometimes as much as 1 1/2 inches up the shaft!  I feel like I'll never be split end free again.
It tries my patience.  Perhaps a deep hot olive oil treatment will make me feel better.
I think my natural haircolor is getting brighter with these supplements I've been taking.  Have another month before next salon trim.
Happy I'm growing my hair out long.
I think I'll go order some soap now...

Ah, well, on the soap front I've got 12 samples and 2 lotion bars coming.  What fun trying them all.
Holding off until May to purchase costume.
I dreamt that I was oiling my hair...a subconscious hint?
I'm glad I've come across this detox-I think it is also detoxing my mind and emotions.  Of course everything about us is connected so why not, a pleasant bonus.
Recieved new book "French Women Don't Get Fat" yesterday.  Its great fun.  Reminding me of so many things I'd forgotten.
New Bellydancing videos are on their way.  Looking for inspiration.
Tomorrow is monthly meditiation class.  Haven't given any thought to what I'll teach.
1/2 way through this month all ready.  April 30 is 8th wedding anniversary.  Gone by quick!
I think I'm going to go oil my dry hair and watch a movie.
