I'm finally going to color
Feb 12th, 2005 at 1:44am

I made the appointment and next Thursday I will have one hair color.  Luckily I found my old friend who is a stylist to do it, and I'm not worried about her wanting to chop my hair off in the process.  (Well, she might want to, but I know she won't).   I asked her if she could use a weaker strength of the color to cause as little damage as possible, and she said she could.  Since my hair is already bleached it won't be hard for it to take the color.  She also said that the stuff they would use will act as a conditioning treatment to some extent also.  I can't wait to see how it will turn out.

Valerie-Good Luck!  I was pleased with the semipermanent color I had applied by my stylist in January.  I'm trying to go back to my natural color from red and the semipermanent was much easier and pleasant than having the permanent color applied.
It's good that you're using a stylist you trust-can be scary, huh?
What color are you going to?

I'm going to my now natural color of light brown--ash blonde.   I have to admit I'll miss having blonde, I still kind of think of myself that way, but oh well.

I won't hit you silly!

Red doesn't work well for me long term, and my goal is to never have to dye again, once my ends blend into the rest of my hair.   I wouldn't be able to find a henna mix that would match well enough, and even if I did, I'd mess it up at the application.

but medium brown does exist in "herbal henna". of course one has to like keeping up with it but many say it's equally permanent after a few applications as permanent dye. but people seem to have different opinions about applying it on bleached hair. or was it rebleaching after henna ? ... don't remember

Valerie;
Tough decision, but I totally understand.  Once you get your hair close to your natural color, you won't need to worry about it anymore.

Take before and after pics - we want to see! Grin

I hope it comes out well for you. I will soon be at a point where I need to decide whether to keep on with the black or go back to my natural dark brown. ??? I'm tiring of the mess with the dye but I still love the black so much I hate to let it go.  Undecided Cry

So far so good.  I like the color, the ends are still a bit lighter but nothing so obvious.  I've put in several drops of jojoba oil and will see what it feels like in the morning.

My friend did a good job of working with my hair.  Not as gently as I usually am, but she defintly combed from the bottom up.  She even did a very little trim just to even up the shagginess.

I'll get pictures up this weekend.
