Again I'm getting that feeling, that pull towards a more basic...earth centered way of life.  It seems to call me more in the Fall, though the tug is a bit early this time.   Smiley  There has to be some reason for this call, and I think I very much need to start walking down that path to find out if it's truly meant for me.  I ought not to just poo-poo this feeling away (as i've done in the past).

I think you should follow your intuition, especially if the felling has been this strong.  I wish you luck in finding your spiritual path!

Thanks Khrome--I think so, too.   Smiley

Hair
S'd + C'd with VO5 this morning.  Ends feel a tad bit dry, but I didn't oil.

Other
Awoke this morning to overcast skies and cooler temperatures--sweet relief!  I know from experience that this is only a temporary lull in our famous Missouri humidity.  But we'll take it, believe me.  This most welcome break in the high temperature is what enables us to finish the Summer stretch and survive until Autumn arrives.

I'm treating myself to a diet Dr Pepper, sipping on it as I type this...aahhh...!  I'm a tea drinker usually, but every now and then I need a soda.  This whole week has been frustrating, in terms of work, and if I was a smoker...hoo boy.   Wink

Hey Trisha!  Hope you enjoyed your Dr. Pepper... Wink

On the webstite hearwarmingglow.com they've got some of those electric candles, really perty ones.  In fact, if they'll ever respond to my inquiry I'm thinking about carrying their line in my store.

The spiritual subject is a very confusing one for me lately, I just find myself questioning everything these days.  Undecided  Man, as a kid you question nothing, as an adult you question everything, can't we go back? Tongue

I'm not lovin' the VO5 s+c as I hoped I would.    Undecided  I still have some Giovanni s+c left and believe I'll return to using it...them...whatever.  It's funny, but, a year and a half ago when I first started paying attention to my hair, I was using inexpensive products such as Suave and VO5 and it didn't seem to matter.  But now that my tresses know better--heavens, no!  The cheap stuff will not do!!   Smiley  And, you know, when broken down to cost per use, the Giovanni probably isn't too expensive.

Other
Being a Thursday, I'm once again treating myself to a diet Dr Pepper.   Grin  Yum!

Maybe we should all be more childlike and ask WHY? more often!  I don't believe we should take too many things at face value--doing so becomes a dangerous habit.  I also believe it's not wrong to question your faith, no matter what faith you are.  Life is about traveling different paths and sometimes creating new roads yourself--not just plodding blindly along behind the fellow in front of you.   Wink

Found a couple of nice smelly candles at Wally World the other weekend.  Hubby actually found them for me--warm apple pie and hazlenut cream.  I have them lit right now and, man, do they smell great!

The candles sound like they really are yummy!!  Hope you enjoy!  If you can find Soy candles, get them instead because A)they burn cleaner,b)they burn longer.c)they are cheaper and the fragrance lasts longer!

Hair
Returned this morning to using Giovanni s+c --MUCH better!  I got better results almost immediately, even while I was still in the shower.  Hair felt smoother and silkier, and continues to feel so.  Much fewer tangles after drying, too.  So the vo5 leftovers will be relegated to leg-shaving duty!   Cheesy

The Fall semester of classes begins on August 21--one week away.  Just during the past few days the tension level has increased tenfold around here.  I hate this time of the year...the gearing up for students.  If not for this low carb diet, I'd be eating chocolate like a mad woman right now!!   Grin  Maybe this weekend I'll buy myself a low carb treat.  Lord knows I deserve one...The two lit candles sitting on my desk help a great deal to lower my stress level.  I watch the flames...drink in their enticing aromas...take a deep breath...aaahhh, all is well!!   Smiley

Trisha-this is so great to read your journal and see you are growing out your hair from such a short length (when you started last year). I'm just starting from a short length...hopefully next year I'll be braiding my hair too! Wink

Awww, thanks, RTG!  It's so nice to know that I'm helping to inspire someone else!  *sniffle*   Smiley

Hair
Didn't feel like washing today, so I'm sporting a ponytail.  Quite a few times last week I wore braided pigpy tails to bed  and I had much lfewer tangles upon rising.  I think I need to make that a nightly habit.

Other
I had a milestone of sorts yesterday when I donated my wigs to our local American Cancer Society.  It's been three years since I finished chemo, and the wigs have been gathering dust in my closet.  Why did it take me so long to turn loose of them?  Well...I guess in the back of my mind I was waiting to see if I'd need them again, i.e., if the cancer would recur.  Although my doctor told me that the cancer would most likely come back within one year if it was going to...thankfully, the big CA did not come back, and it's time to take one more step back to Normalsville.   Smiley  I also volunteered to receive telephone calls and/or emails from people who've been diagnosed with cancer (of any kind).  Hopefully I can help others by sharing my experience.

Congrats on taking a big mental step in your recovery.  Those wigs were a hugh safety zone for you, and now you are helping others with your experience.  You are a real hero. Grin

Aww, shucks, guys...   Roll Eyes

Hair
3rd day hair, sides held back with side combs.  I've been piggy tailing every night for beddy-by time and it's working great.  My next experiment will be CO washing, starting this weekend.  I need to get details on this method so I know what the hey I'm doing.

Life lately has been a blur of work, home, sleep, eat...rinse, lather, repeat.  I seem to be running in a circle, chasing my tail, and not getting a dang thing accomplished.  When the heck are things going to slow down?!  *faint*

Story of my life.  Tongue  But don't worry...things will slow down when we're dead.  Grin

It's really inspiring what you're doing for people suffering with cancer. I actually got misty-eyed reading over your last entry. As many here probably remember, I lost both my grandmother and my dog to cancer earlier this year, and will likely lose a neighbour in due time.  Cry  I really hope that you've followed through after the chemo treatments and continue to get screened regularly.

You are one awesome chick, Trisha.  Wink
