Dear journal,

this morning i just cool rinsed with water. then i sprayed with herbal spray and put a dab of aloe gel/baby oil. then i put my hair in a pony tail. i have been trimming by the morrocan method.(BB, thanks for giving me the new 2006 link for MM).  how can i find out what hair type i am BB? like a 3ab or something? how can i find out? In the Curly Girl handbook it says i have Botticelli curls. Thankfully hair that is very forgiving. Anyone with even wavy hair should run out and buy this book  PRONTO!?! its such a lifesaver aka hairsaver. I take this book with me on long plane rides, mini road trips and its great for traveling. keeps you hair focused.

Wow, Curlygirl, your hair looks amazing! It reminds me of the long-haired lasses in pre-Raphaelite paintings. *swoon* Good show.

I've been wanting to learn more about the Moroccan Moon Method myself. Would you mind sharing the link that bikerbraid gave you? You can post it here or in my own hair journal if you wish. I'd really appreciate it!

Also, what is this aloe gel/baby oil that you mentioned? It sounds interesting.  Smiley

Sadly no, i don't have the same hair type as you...though i WISH I DID, my hair is stuck between curly and wavy, but it has more little waves, like Sakina's latest hair pic- that's how my hair would look if i let it dry loose, no braid or bun. but i like to loosen it up a bit so i always braid or bun

I love the curly book too, Smiley have you tried that potatoe starch recipe? my mom wanted to try it since her hair seemed uncontrolable with the frizz and all ...but then she chickened out, she refuses to try anything "unusual" on her hair- like banans or avocadoes Roll Eyes Tongue

BTW: what do you use in your herbal spray?

Hi angelspun Smiley,

because im not that great at computers im not sure how to send you the link for morrocan method, but if you go to PAGE 12 of my journal, you will see that BB SENt me the link. ALL you have to do is click on  the words morrocan method on the message that BB SENT me. goodluck. thanks for the compliment about my hair. i feel like it looks like a mop. sometimes me and my friends joke and call each other mop head.  Cheesy

ALOE gel and baby oil mixture is just a concoction i mixed up. its aloe gel that i bought from KMART. also Baby oil that i used to use on my kids bum. i just mix about a tablespoon of aloe gel and a teaspoon of baby oil. then i put it into a sleek bun, because sometimes i am just sick of having a big afro. Lips Sealed i just want normal hair that doesnt looked like i got electricuted on frizzy hair days. thankgod for what i have. its really a miracle. all the trauma i have endured. thankyou LORD.

Beesan, i used to wish my hair was less curly because in highschool freshmen year this boy would tease me and tell me i had a jerri curl>????? WTF?!?(SORRY ANGEL SPUN I borrowed that term from you, i just love it>its funny  Wink) I HAVe come terms with it. thankgod for everything.

Potatoe head, no i didnt try that recipe. It sounds interesting.

Herbal Enhancing Spray- consists of about 6 cups boiled water, 5 drops of lavender and 5 drops of rosemary. it stimulates my hair. hopefully! Roll Eyes

My day was good thankgod. In the morning i got invited to a fabulous dinner party. i wore a hot alfit. i wore my gray pantsuit(classic attire aka never goes out of style), with a silk peach tank. it was adorable. my pointy black and gray stylish sexy shoes and a matching black purse that i always use. i had my hair in a bun. very classy and chic. i usually mix and match my clothes. i have had that pantsuit for years. i just mixed a different tank with it.  Little Ryan kept crying. so we call him Crying Ryan ( my 2 year old). The conversation was good and the catered food was yummy.   Thankgod it was nice and a blessing just to have good company and good food.

Heya, Curlygirl  Smiley

Thanx for directing me to the link. The Morrocco Method is something to think about.

I use baby oil on my hair as well, though in a different way. I have a small spray bottle that I mix about ¼ baby oil and ¾ water for use as a tip treatment. I never thought of using aloe gel.

Jheri curls are sexy. They remind me of Michael Jackson in the 80's, whom I had a huge crush on.  Wink  Grin

I don't mind your using WTF. hehe It wasn't "mine" to begin with. A friend of mine always types, "WTF, mate?" so I've started using that as well.

How lovely to get invited to a dinner party. hehe I feel lucky if I get dinner at all these days.  Undecided

hi angelspun,

its nice to get invited to a dinner party. but i dont get to eat much because I have to put a plate of food while holding Crying Ryan,  then Crying Ryan sits in my lap while i attemp to feed him and myself. I would probobly starve to death if i didnt get invited to dinner parties, because im not much of a cook(well a good one that is).  If im home all day and famished i usually get a footlong at Subway. My family doesnt do much dinner parties because my fam is divided all over the world Undecided.  NY, North Carolina, Lousiana, Europe, Chicago of coarse, and Washington. Its my husbands family and friends who do a lot of entertaining. which is entertaining to me. Something to do. It gets old after a while.Roll Eyes

No prob for the MM link that to BB!

Im starting to come to terms with my Jheri curls. thankgod. Roll Eyes Thanks for your kind words( Jheri curls are sexy), it makes me feel better. Just wish DH would think that. Roll Eyes

Aloe gel is wonderful for damaged hair like mine from chemical burns. Cry Also for a very sensitive scalp like mine. Im going to stock up on it!!!

Right on.

I think it's pretty common to have relatives scattered about the states. Only my immediate family lives in the same county as me, but they in the far northeast and I in the southwest.

And I know what you mean about starving all day. haha Unfortunately, that's just part of the gig, whether from work or family or what have you. Women usually tend to put eating that the very bottom of the list of priorities...for whatever reason.  Undecided

Wouldn't aloe gel leave your hair rather sticky? Pardon my ignorance.  Embarrassed

Aloe gel doesnt make my hair sticky. Its a strong hold for me. It has a cooling effect on my hair and scalp. Thats why I love it.

Lisabelle, I agree about the Aloe.

Well Last night was fabulous. My good friend called me and we went out for coffee at IHOP.  I dont remember laughing so much as i did yesterday. She is hillarious.  Thankgod for friends. I put the kids to sleep and i went out to a late night buffet of all you can eat pancakes and decaf coffee. tasty.  I have a teensy headache now. I went to Patio and ordered a yummy cream of potatoe soup and  garden salad. I guess they forgot to  put bread in this time ???. I like to have bread and butter with my soup. Undecided Next time i will be sure to check the bag before i leave the drive through. Geez. I hate when that happens. All else is ok. Going to take a short nap now , i have a teensy headache. yawn.

Moonchild Thankyou for asking Kiss. I have been getting a ton of headaches with this pregnancy. Thankgod im better now.

Hair- In a low curly ponytail today. Just spritzed with herbal spray. BTW I have to make more herbal spray.  I did a teensy trim today. Trim for thickness. Its looks like a full moon tonight.

Hobbies-Watched a few good movies today. A couple Lifetime Movie ones and The Phantom of the Opera. The Phantom of the Opera was a wonderful movie with a sad ending Cry. Boy if i could change the endings to movies, the movies would be much better.

Life-Family is away on a cruise to the Carribean, Jamaica and Mexico. Must be nice. Im here in a blizzard and they are in the sweet sun and sands of Jamaica. Roll Eyes We were not able to travel because of my pregnancy. Its terriblely(dont know how to spell again and cant find my dictionary) boring and lonely w/o them. Sad
