Ohh, Lisabelle! All of this talk about Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas plans are getting me so stoked for the season!  Cheesy

Sorry that your MIL doesn't approve of your cooking...or your eating. I have a cousin who has refused to eat turkey ever since the infamous "turducken incident" a few years ago.  Tongue  Her family understands and she & I support each other in our "mostly vegetarian" tendencies. hehe To each their own, ya know?

Hope there isn't too much drama during the impending get togethers. If your MIL starts giving you dirty looks, just look the other way and ignore her.

Thanks Angel! Cheesy

That MIL, yeesh. While I can see how she could be peeved that you're not eating her food and brought your own. But on the other hand, you brought your own food! It's not like you asked her to make something extra special for you and hubby. I swear, some people. Angry

Oooh, veggie lasagna and grilled salmon. You're making my mouth water, 'nee san! I should go to your place for dinner one day. Wink

Hhehe! I love to cook!  I've been cooking since I was 6 years old.  I remenber the first time I made bread.  I was about 10.  It was a sweet bread that I shaped into two big gingerbread men.  We kept one and other I gave to my cuz Connie (who worked at my grammer school).  She brought some with her lunch and gave a peice to the schools princple (sp?) Sister K, well she did not beleive I made it! Humph! I have cooked everthing from deer meat, snake!, eel (oh I love eel!) Coming from an Italian family I was tought to cook staightway.  Oh I know you have to cook for some friends soon eh?  How about grilled salmon?  Here what you do---  get some salmon slices, lets say one for every two people.  Cut them in half and marinade them in teryaki sause for a hour or so in the fridge. Then place them on a cookie sheet that's covered with tin foil. Put under broiler in the oven for a few minutes basting with the teryaki sauce.  Keep and eye on it as fish cooks really fast.  You can serve it with rice! Wink

You bring back good memories for me!  It seems in European families they get the girls in the kitchen at an early age.  My mother had my sister and I in the kitchen at 3 and 4 doing little things.  I think we were cooking at 7.  It's a good positive memory, thanks Lisabelle!!

Your Welcome! My mother use to say I was a brave cook.  I would try receipes she was too scared to try like homemade chicken and leek potpie. I got the recipe from Victoria magazine.  I had just gotten married and wanted to try it on hubby.  He loved it! Kiss
I use to go by my cuz Connie and make pasta by hand.  We would sit at the kitchen table of which was covered in flour and sit and roll little shells with our fingers. Wink Her four sons would come in and out of the kitchen waiting to see if we put the pot on! (I was betroved to the youngest but happy that did not come to pass.  He married one of my school mates and is doing fine). Easter was a big cooking time and mom and I would make a load of different pies, we made a meat pie, a grain pie, a pasta pie.. these were made in big cassrols (sp?)  I can go on and on! Grin

Dear Hair Diary,

I got a vacuum!  Thank gods!  It's a Bissell power force I got it on Kijji used.  It's brand new, the old owner only used it on an area rug for a month then dumped the cheap rug!  Its a lot lighter then the other one and is blue!

Today is wash day, hairs been a good girl.  Weathers been hot! This is nuts for Fall, global warming...... not good! It rained for two minutes lastnight, that was cheap!

I improv-ed a bellydancing routine to the song "One Night in Bangkok" with intro.  Oooh hubby like that!  He said my dancing is getting really good!  I was so pleased!...

bye for now!...

Thanks for the suggestion about the salmon! It sounds pretty easy to make and would be a nice alternative to pasta.

Dear Hair Diary,

Hurt my neck yesterday during bellydancing.  I was spinning and spotting and turned too fast.  Ouch! ...  The change in weather is making everyone feel crappy, me included.... But once we get use to it it will be okay.

The new vacuum is awesome!  Talk about suction! I could have made a wig from all the hair and fur it got out of the rugs! ...

Today is pamper day, facials and relaxing....

Bye for now!...

Dear Hair Dairy,

My neck is a lot better today.... As you can tell I get a little wild with my dancing!  It was cold lastnight! ... I had to put the electric rad on for my bunny and birdy.  Hair looking a tad dry, my coconut heat treatment is coming soon.

Do you ever find shopping in itself a workout?  I do, we have a super market  here the size of a Home Depot!  It takes about and hour to get thought it! This place is not good for a quick shop!... But the place right by my house has a crappy selection of stuff, and crapper prices.

Anyway I see the in-laws this weekend. I was able to get away for a few weeks now. (thank god!)  You know the problem with my MIL and she admits this is she cannot keep her mouth shut Lips Sealed  She always has a comment on things most of all on subject she has no clue about or are frankly non of her business!!  She thinks I'm retarted as it is.....  She got pissed that I bought a Belly dancing costume, well she would not make mine saying, "when are you going to wear it! "  Nittering old bi%$h!

Anyway sorry about the rant.  The thing is we want to get a new mattress as we got some money from hubbies European reliaitves and I need her wagon to get it home.  She will say "Oh your wasting money".  That's the same thing she said when we got wedding bands for our 10th wedding anniversary.

Grrrrrr!...

Bye for now!
