Thanks Juri!

It's the ex-new yorker in me that has the nerve to do reporting I guess!  I think the glue does wash out...I think?

You're welcome! lol, At least you have the guts to go up to people. I'd even feel stupid going up to total strangers and saying something positive like, "You have nice hair!"

I guess the glue would wash out, but the longhair in me is wondering "is there a lot of residue?" Perhaps they don't care?

Oooh that was another interesting column!  Elmer's glue???  Cheesy  I can see that - it is water soluble and supposedly non-toxic.  It just surprises me that it took us this long to think of putting it in our hairs.  Elmer's has been around a long time.

On a related note, a few years ago it was trendy for girls to wear big baggy socks in Japan. It kind of had a leg-warmer look.  They also had to use glue to hold them up.  I can't remember what kind though.

Hehe, I've seen pics of those "loose socks." Some online import stores still  sell them as well as "special sock glue".

Dear Hair Diary,

I think I found the best trement so far!  I put emu oil in my hair then anais's treatment on my ends and left it for all of Monday and monday night.  Wow!  Hair is so soft and shiney!!  even hubby noticed after a 12 hours shift!

Bye for now!  Grin

Hi Pan!

I have the receipe:

2 golf balls of shea refined (or 1,1 of shea, mango)
1/2 golf ball of shea unrefined yellow (smelly)
3 tablespoons of jojoba oil

Melt the butters, add the oil, and stir until the mix thickens. Hint - use ice packs when the container cools off to room temp. Keep stirring until the mix is thick as frosting, thicker, thicker, until it finally looks like play dough. It will get even harder by the next morning. If you put it into containers and leave it overnight, it will have the final consistency of a creamy butter (truly melt-on-contact).

I love using this one!  Thanks to Anais!  Kiss

Thanks for posting that, Lisabelle! Hmm, I wonder if I could get that to work without the jojoba (oil = crunchy).

Oh yeah, about the sock glue--I've never seen some in person, but I'm assuming it had a weak bond or else it would have damaged the socks and/or skin. But then again, some people will put up with anything for the sake of fashion.

Makes me think about the dresses that are worn to the awards shows with necklines to ..... well, wherever!  Roll Eyes  They use double stick tape to hold the dress in place!  Shocked (Thank goodness they do, or those shows would be X rated!

Thanks for reposting that, Lisabelle! Smiley The recipe makes a LOT compared to what people actually need, but they also make good Christmas presents too. I am nearing the end of my first 2 oz tin of this recipe. And it was made in... July?

These last a looong time!

I made some with refined and unrefined shea butter and mango butter and it worked very well.  The result has become one of my favorites; it soothes razor burn, softens dry hair, and heals cat scratches.   Roll Eyes

Biker Braid  Yeah, I remember the JLo dress!  Oye!  At the stores here you can by that two way tape along with sticky bra's.  I use to wear the sticky bra's under dress's for hoilday parties.  Put it this way, if you big you need a few sets to hold everything up and taking them off is a real pain!  Best to melt them off in the shower.  Thank goodness I don't do crazy stuff like that anymore.
