Dear Hair Diary,

I did my heat cap treatment yesterday using camillia oil and Anais's butter on the ends, but this time I put the treatment on before bed, slept in it and did the heat cap in the morning.  Hair feels great!  Day light saves times is really bugging me this year.  I cannot wait to get use to it. Tongue  I really am noticing the effects of taking the vitamins, nails are as hard as ever and hair is stronger too.  It's been 6 months, Wow!  Thursday I finnally see the doctor regarding my shoulder Tongue  Happly it has not flared up in a long time.

Bye for now  Cheesy

Dear Hair Diary,

I got the antique Japanese comb and sticks yesterday!  They are made of tortoise shell and my seller is donating the money from the sale to endangered animals.  I thought that was really nice of her. Grin  I wore them out and got some really neat comments, and older man saw me and said "You remind me of a Geisha I saw when I was in Japan in the 50's" The korean lady at the candy store was very interested in the comb. I did not wear the big stick and the flower in the bun is not from the set.

Sakina Thanks! Cheesy The wave picture is in my bedroom it called "The Great Wave Off Kanagawa" by Katsushika Hokusai who was a Japanese painter and printmaker from the Edo Period. The flower is a little fork type pin I got with some other hair sticks a while ago.  I don't know what type of flower it is, but I got two of them!  Grin

Dear Hair Dairy,

I got some rose water the other day.  Wow it smells so good!  My scalps been a little greasy, but the rose water freshens it up nicely.  I send a message to the Royal Ontario Muesum to find an expert to look at my Bekko comb and sticks.  Wouldn't it be wild if they were worth a small fortune?  Not that I would sell them Roll Eyes

On other fronts, I read the book "Geisha, a Life" by Mineko Iwasaki.  It was pretty good and quite hard to put down.  There was an interesting things about hairsticks:  They where used to protect the client in dangerous situations, hence, that is why they are pointed.  I thought that was very interesting!  Also the Maiko (apprentice Geisha or "Geiko")  hairstyles lead to baldness due to there weight (eek!)  The author went to the hospital to get the bald spot on the top of her head fixed. It was done like a face lift, drawing the skin together and stiching it.  Lips Sealed

bye for now!  Grin

Neat! I hope you can get someone to look at them.

I've also heard about the kanzashi being used for protection. Maybe I was reading things wrong, but I thought the geisha or maiko used kanzashi to protect herself. But I like the idea of a maiko busting out some deadly kanzashi moves to protect her client from street thugs. Okay, I'm weird, but you all had an inkling of that, right? Happy;;

Juri  Yes, it would be great to have an expert look a them! Tee hee, no your not weird!  I was thinking of the Maiko fighting Ninja's!! I know, it sounds a little like "Kill Bill" Roll Eyes Hubby once had a computer game that had Geisha as assassins, they used hairsticks and Shamisen strings to kill the oppontents.

That reminds me of the Zatoichi movie that came out a couple of years ago. The geisha had a shamisen that had a blade built into the neck of the instrument. Have you seen that movie? It kind of bloody (CG blood), but I thought it was a good flick.

Yes!! the blind swordsman, I loved that movie! It's on my x-mass wish list!  I'm a big fan of  Beat Takeshi. There is another movie he did called Taboo, it was about samurai lovers.  I liked that one too, along with his TV show, Taleshi's Castle. Grin

Wow! What an elegant bun with the comb and the flower!! So feminine
I love it!!

Edited to talk about Kitano:

Ohhhh I love Takeshi Kitano too!!!  Grin Grin
Imagine "running into" ppl who like him in here!
But my favourite movie of him is "Dolls". Quite different from all his previous ones that were more of the "bloody" type.
Have you seen "Dolls"?
And why do you call him "Beat" Kitano?
