Thanks ladies! Grin  Last night I whipped up a speical dinner!  I made salmon teriyaki, futo maki sushi,  and Horensi no o-shitashi (spinach rolls) along with sticky rice and green noodles.  Hubby called me the "little iron chef"  We had a great time, hubby set the table with our new japanese dishes and lit candles. A great night! Grin

Wow, Lisabelle!  How did you learn how to roll sushi?  I would like to learn how.  Also, where did you go to find sushi-grade fish?

I hope your anniversary went well.  Best wishes for you and your husband.

Curlygirl, Pan, Thanks!

Pan, I learned how to roll sushi from a Japanese cookbook I have on CD. It has little video's to watch, plus i have had a lot of practice! I used shitaki mushrooms, egg and spinach in my rolls.  I haven't found sushi grade fish yet.  I guess I would have to go to the coast and start fishing!  Last night I saw a really neat dish on Iron Chef. He took a long fish, gutted and scalled it then put cuts along both sides of it.  Then he dipped it on tempura and deep fryed it.  It came out looking like a dragon! I'm going to try this for hubby's birthday in March!

Belated Happy Anniversary!!  Cheesy

They come up with some really unique dishes on Iron Chef.  I haven't seen the tempura dragon fish yet - that sounds neat!  Not to mention, very yummy.  *drool*

Dear Hair Diary,

I did my second wash yesterday.  This is my CO with baking soda.  This time I used ACV in the mid-rinse as I heard one should use it to resort the ph after using BS.  Must be carefull with BS, my face got irritated this time.. Tongue  I've been doing S&D's, they really help! Grin

On other fronts I saw Memories of a Geisha last night.  I had heard it got crappy reviews but went anyway.  I read the book years ago and loved it.  I really enjoyed this movie! Even hubby was glued to the screen!  I cryed at all the sad bits and was thrilled to see the characters in action.  I just wish there were more Japanese actors in the movie.  Mako ( one of my all time favorite Japanese actors) was in it, but only briefly. All in all a good flick! And lots of long hair!!!

bye for now Cheesy

I'm glad you enjoyed "Memoirs of a Geisha." I saw it with my mom on Christmas and I couldn't get that into it. I was kind of annoyed with that because I really wanted to like the movie. I don't know...it was nice to look at and the actors did a good job, but it didn't do that much for me. I think I was being too knit picky about the way the movie portrayed Japanese culture and differences between the book and the movie. I was envious of Gong Li's hair, though. Wow!

Juri Gong Li's hair was amazing!  I tryed not to do any nit picking myself,  I did too much when I saw The Goblet of Fire. Hubby asked a ton of questions afterwards, thankfully I read the book a dozen times as some things were not covered and other things changed. we were up to the wee hours chatting away.  I'm sorry you didn't get into it, I was the same way for me with Alexander.  Maybe when it comes out on DVD you can watch it again?  Wink

The dragon fish idea sounds spectacular!  I really wanted to see that movie, too.  I'll definately check it out when it gets out on DVD.

LOL! I felt the way you did when I saw "Alexander." After it was over I was like, "Um, okay....." It's kind of weird how I really liked "HP and the Goblet of Fire", but not "MOG" and I had read both books multiple times. Tongue  But I'll probably watch MOG again when it comes out on DVD. In the mean time, I'll wonder how long it'll take me to get Gong Li-ish hair. hehehe

Pan When I do the dish I'll let you know how it turns out. Smiley

Juri  I would love to have her long black hair.  I was dying my hair black for some time.  I wonder, is that her own hair?

Dear Hair Diary,

Holidays are over and the man is back to work, praise the gods!  My hairs been loving the Jason products, which is great!
Yestersay my MIL (Mum) made me a satin sleep cap.
...
At frist I thought well I might not be able to sleep with something on my head.  In the past I have used pantey hose as a covering but it always came off.  Well, I tryed Mums and it was fantastic!!!  It stood on and my hair was contained.  When I took it off this morning my hair was not a mess!  And it was my frist time sleeping with a bun too!  Mum fitted the cap with my hair in a bun so theres lots of space on top and the back.  I really loved it!  When I put it on hubby looked at me in shock at frist.  I reassured him I was not changing my religion. LOL!  Then he asked me where sleeping caps came from etc... Neat conversation that!
I would recommed these all the way, I don't know about very long in these caps but my just before BSL hair fits and it really helps on cold nights too! Perhaps one would be great for hubbies bald head?? Roll Eyes

Bye for now!
