Dear Hair Diary,

Been feeling really tried lately.  Hubbies on nights again this week and it has messed up my sleep pattern. Tongue

I've been making bun covers but need more wool and elastics.  I put some up on e-bay and hopefully they will sell.

On other fronts we had a really trying Sunday at the in-laws.  Mum freaking out about her nasty daughter, her daughter tying to book me and hubbie you babysitting three months in advance! Angry  I mean heck, she did that last year and I vowed not to do it this year. But of course Mum had a hairy when I told her no so now were stuck again. Lips Sealed
and my other sister-in-law will not baby sit at all this year and the father and his family would not either.  I just think that if you have a 2 year old you should NOT be going off to all weekend parties! Angry That women is a self centered cow!
Sorry for ranting but damn!

I got a hint that I'm getting a needlepoint kit for my birthday next month. So I am brushing up on my stitches.  I got some books out of the library.  I love the Eric Wilson books but  they don't carry them anymore! Cry  No to wory I found other books that will help.

Long winded me!

Bye for now! Cool

Dear Hair Diary,

I finally washed my hair on Thursday. Bun covers and snoods really come in handy when my hair is in need of a wash!  I got a lady mcsnood snood the other day in the mail.  Wow there really pretty!  I got a blue one with silver beads.  Hubby thought I made it! Roll Eyes  I also did a SD on friday night boy did I need it!

I got a knitting knobby at Micheals yesterday, it's the old spool knitting thingy.  I must have done two feet already!

Anyway...I was up really late lastnight to watch Samuel L. Jackson's Afro Samurai.  Cool anime  Cool

Bye for now! Smiley

Dear Hair Diary,

I've been using aloe vera gel to help plop my hair into larger curls.  I use hair pins and make large pin curls and then take them out when my hair is dry.  Well, tonight I was taking a bath and thought gee I should do a CO as my hair was feeling a bit sticky as I has over did it with the Aloe vera gel.  So I drained the water out of the tub and proceeded with a CO.  After getting a really big amount of conditioner in my hair I turned on the shower to wash and rinse.  Then to my horror the water was getting cold!... Doh!  So I rinsed as long as I could before I started to turn blue. Then I thought oh crap!  I have to put my regular condtioner in or my hair will freak!...
so I put it in and combed it then got out of the shower.  So I'm sitting here in a shower cap thinking oh well I will never wash my hair at night again cause all the tenants of this building must of had a ball taking long hot showers.  I ready needed the bath though, I wasn't feeling up to snuff.  Aunt flo takes a lot out of me sometimes.  I would say in 15mins I will see if there's any hot water.

And so are the follies of Lisabelle! ...

By the way how much aloe gel do you use to get curls and how do you curl your hair, before you pin it, do you twist it round your finger?

Hi Rainbow!

This is how I curl my hair --- when my hair is damp after a wash I carefully part it down the middle.  Then I take about a dime size bit of Aloe gel and rub it between my palms.  I then make three twisted pin curls on each side of my head like this ---  I twist the hair like a rope then whirl it around my finger and secure to my head with hair pins.  I use a dime size bit of aloe for each curl.  Then once dry I take out the pins and finger comb.  Hope this helps! I've heard aloe gel mentioned here alot.  What is it?  Is it just a regular holding styling gel or is it a moisturizer?

La Diosa - Aloe vera is a liquid that comes from plants with healing properties, it has lots of vitamins and minerals in it and some people put it in there deep treatments or just on their scalps to make their scalps well so yes its just aloe but in a gel form.

Lisabelle - how do the curls turn out, are they tight or lose and wavey? How long do they last?

This is very interesting

Yes Aloe is very good for the hair.  It helps control frizz and makes it nice and soft as well.

The curls turn out  kinda loose cause I only put six in.  If I made more I would use less hair thus making them smaller and tighter. They last about two days with just finger combing and kept covered when I go to sleep.  To freshen the curl after a day I spray with just a little misting of rosewater and plopp it a bit. Smiley

Thanks for explaining more about the Aloe gel, Rainbow and Liasbelle.  I may try this and see how my hair responds to it.

Lisabelle, do I remember correctly that you use monoi oil?  I just ordered some and am wondering if you do use it if you have any tips for me about it.

Thanks!

Dear Hair Dairy,

It was a wintery day in Canada!  And man it's cold!...  Poor hubby had to go to work in the blizzard (damn his boss!)... All the schools were closed and road were empty.  Poor beanie, he's not home yet. Embarrassed  I helped my nieghbor shovel snow and put salt down on the walk.  God we froze!

We celebrated Valentines lastnight Roll Eyes  Hubby got me some really pretty red roses! And I got him his favorite candies and made him heart shaped short bread cookies.  It was the best Valentines yet! ...

Hair:  I gave myself a 1 inch chop just now.  What I noticed is that the ends of my hair were really dry.  I beleive its old hair color that I missed when I chopped three inches off a while back. Hair feels alot better, I would like to take off a little more but I will wait. I don't like cutting my hair but it needed to be done! Cry

Bye for now! Smiley

Dear Hair Diary,

What a nutty weekend!  First we went to see Ghost Rider on Saturday on the late show.  I just washed my hair so it put it in a snood and proceed to get dressed for the flick.  Hubby and I dressup for movies Roll Eyes  We dressed as Harry Potter and Voldemort for the last Potter movie.  Hubby being bald made a awesome Ghost rider/Johnny Blaze!  We freaked out alot of people!  Mind you the threater is use to us by now.  Hubby even signed some autographes and scared the crap out of some guy in the washroom!   what did I go as? Well after getting hubby made up and all I just dressed up like a sexy biker babe and put on my black wig.  Sorry no pics! Man did Colin look good!  Oh and the movie rocked!

Okay, Sunday I got a suprise early 40th birthday party at Mum's house.  I wasn't in the door and hour when little Morgan jammed her finger in my right eye.  I'm okay but poor Morgan got so scared.  Her little finger nail cut the corner of my eye and the blood freaked her out.  So I was laying on the sofa with a compress on my face when I decided to go to the washroom.  I got up and not being able to see much walked into a table and broke some toes on my left foot!!  Oh that hurt!  What a nutty day!  I took it all in stride though. They got me sushi for dinner, cocolate cake and a pair of gold earrings. They had decorated the living room with lots of balloons and streamers.   My present was hidden in one of the balloons and I had to hunt for it!  It was really fun and I was so happy that we all get along so well now.  Hubby kept a eye on me but I was okay.  I went out side later and put my foot in the snow (that really helped) Gosh it was only -8 out! (don't try that at home kiddies!) I got to take the balloons home and have them hanging over our bed!  Hhehe! Dispite the follies I really enjoyed myself.

So there's my nutty weekend!
bye for now!
