Hope the rash heals soon, Lisabelle! Hope your Mum's Day went well!

Thanks! I've been using a creme I got from the doctor for the rash on my neck.  I think the bites are spider bites.  I live in a 150+ year old farm house so it's bug city. Tongue

Dear Hair Dairy,

I haven't washed all week and my hair is still doing okay!  No greasy scalp Wink  I was taking a bath lastnight and we had a blackout. The whole neigborhood went out for two minutes.  I thought what the hell could have blown it?  No AC"s are on yet.  I had my candles going so I was very content in the tub.    My friend gave a striptease workout video the other day and i just checked it out.  Smutty and not for me!...I like the bellydancing alot better. I can dance in front of my family and not offend anyone.

My garden is doing good. It survivied the hail storm we had this week.  I need to plant the seedlings I have growing in my window.  It been cold lately, lastnight I went out for a walk to the store with hubby and I froze.  It was cold here this morning too. Sad Well its time for my walk! Cool

bye for now!

I couldn't help but laugh at the idea of your doing a striptease in front of your family
"Hey, look at what I just learned from my new dvd!..." Grin

I've seen those dvd's on eBay and decided to pass as well.  I like the fact that bellydance can be sensual but it's still an art.  It really makes me crazy when people group bellydance in with striptease and burlesque because it's so not the same. Angry  Oops, I'm ranting, sorry. Embarrassed

Glad to hear that your garden is holding up in spite of the cold weather, hope you warm up soon!

LOL!! Grin  I too think it wrong to group bellydancers with stripers.  I have also seen some sleazy bellydancers on the net.  One lady, I swear if she did a shoulder shimmer her top would fall off! Tongue

Dear Hair Diary,

Today is wash day!  I made it a whole week!  Oh man lastnight was nuts!  We went to see Spiderman 3.  Frist we missed 20 mins of the movie cause the popcorn line was so slow.  I told off the manager and he was able to get us on a shorter line.  Then half way through the movie this lady who brought her four year old son (warning this movie is scary and not reommmed for little kids!  Trust me!) took out her cell phone and started to gab with her friends.  I told her nicely twice to put the phone away.  She ignored me, so I stood up and said shut your phone! Others  joined in and she put it away. ... People.....
Anyway it was a good movie, we are big fans of the Web Slinger.  We got to see Vemon... Shocked I think I twisted hubbies arm off, damn they did a wickedly scary job on him! Shocked Shocked Shocked

I am sorry for the rant but when you pay almost $40 to see a movie you don't need the crap I went through.

Anyway, bye for now! Cool

Ugh...what a lousy experience.  Tongue  On the rare occasions that I make it to a movie theatre, I make sure to see the very last showing, late at night, preferably during the work week, and arrive with plenty of time to spare. Concession lines are always shorter that late anyway, but I still like to take precaution. People suck.  Tongue

We did get there early but as you heard that did not work Angry  The theatre is poorly managed  but its better then the other one we have of which is teenage hell. Up here there are no shows later than 10:00 which pisses me off Angry Well no more flicks for us this year expect for Harry Potter, the rest I will wait for the DVD.  It's sad that poeple are such twits!

Dear Hair Diary,

Man it was hot yesterday!  I went out at 11:00 in the morning to beat the heat and almost fainted from it!  It was like hell at 90 degrees.  I went to the library and picked up some books.  Once there I sat in the readling lounge and enjoyed the AC.  My hair was soaked.  I had worn my Tilly hat and that too was soaked along with my shirt and bra. Tongue

Tomorrow is my heat treatment with coconut milk and I need to do new henna on my hands and feet soon.  Hopefully we will get a AC this summer.  My doctor said I need one as the medication I take makes me intolerant of high temps.

Bye for now Cool

Have you ever tried the idea suggested recently on here of keeping the insides of both your wrists damp for as long as necessary ? I always used to soak some cotton wool in water when things got too hot and then tie them on firmly with something. Sometimes even round my neck too as the major blood systems run close to the surface in both these areas. It really does make a difference and cools you down in no time ! But you have to remember to always keep them damp !!.... Grin

Hope this helps if you haven't tried it yet  Smiley

Just remembered the quick way I've sometimes used when it's really stifling though you have to be pretty careful, as because the skin is still very warm it often means you can't always feel the rapid cooling effects taking place until a while afterwards !

Wet as much exposed skin on the arms, legs and face as possible, but apart from shaking off excess drops leave as much surface water on as possible until it's all evaporated and dry, which won't take long ! Once is usually more than adequate as the skin temp (not the blood) will normally come down pretty quickly. For some people much more quickly than others !

It's pretty warm here too, so I tried it just the once about 5 minutes ago on my arms up to my elbows only, and whilst the rest of me's about the same as it always takes time for the cooler blood to circulate round the body, the skin on my arms (i.e. replacing the cotton wool) is already dry and now really chilled ! This then cools the blood down in it's own time.

However plenty of practice is essential for this one first to be on the safe side ! Wink

That's a typical day here in SoCal.  Tongue

Eating and drinking really cold things helps as well.

Dear Hair Dairy,

My hair is cooling right now after my heat cap treatment.  I tried a different coconut milk this time, hope it turns out good.

Last night I went to SDM to get some supplies when I ran into a lady I use to work with.  She told me I looked better with black hair.  I took my hair down and shook it out saying "But now its a lot more healthy, no more treating it bad, so I'm happy"  She gave me an envious look and changed the subject. Huh  Hubby said that she spent too much time behind a cosmetic counter and was a narrow minded %^&*!  People eh? I had to laugh though, she was still trapped in destorying her hair for beauty.  She said I should go back to working in cosmetics.  But I retored by saying that it was chapter of my life that is now closed.

Anyway I'm off to wash my hair!

Cheers! Cool
