Aww... the way you celebrate fathers day is so sweet.  I'm sure it must have felt that in some way he was there with you. Smiley

How did a bird wind up in your basement?  We have birds in our chimney but I have no idea how they're in there.  My cats and I usually hear their loud chirps early in the morning.

I love my Dad.  He was a tough guy, but he always had a soft spot for me. Smiley
I think the bird came down the through the furnace or the door that leads outside.  I am so happy I got him out.  Last year a bat got into my place when it was being renoed and my landlord killed it. Then he gives it to me to try and scare me.  I held the poor thing in my hand and wanted to cry. Cry  I told my landlord why the hell did you kill it you a(*&&^%@e)!  I was really upset as he has no respect for any form of life the bugger! Angry

Very sweet Father's Day tribute, Lisabelle. I'm sure he appreciated it.

I didn't do much to "celebrate" because my father was in LA all day and was exhausted when he came home. So as he was sprawled out in a recliner in his boxers and a t-shirt, I put my arms around him as best I could, kissed him on the forehead and whispered, "Happy Father's Day." I wish I could've done more, but he went to bed within minutes. C'est la vie.  Roll Eyes

Sorry that your landlord is such a giant, raging &@#%. He'll get what's coming to him eventually. Someone will have as much respect for his life as he has for everyone else's.

I have to tell you Lisabelle, I saw what you wrote about Father's Day as soon as you posted it, and I was too choked up by how sweet it was to respond at the time.  I still have my Dad, but know time is growing short.  I ADORE him.  Anyway, I thought it was great.  I salute you for continuing to honor him on Father's Day, even though he is gone.

My Dad was on vacation in Vancouver (still is) but I managed to catch him on the phone to wish him the best.

Forgot to mention...I think your landlord is a tyrant...to be nice. And I think you were great to get the bird out.  I have met woman that would be to squimish because of the flapping wings.  I just have on little, but important question.  Do you have pets in you house?  No, do not panic, I am not suggesting disease...but sometimes birds carry fleas.  Now fleas are USUALLY species specific, but if you do have pets that might have been in an area the bird was, can I suggest you get a flea comb (a very fine comb) and comb them to check for knits or fleas so you can nip any problem in the bud.  Sorry, don't mean to freak you out...but just thought I should mention it.

Angel, Joeydog  It great that your both still have your Dad's! Smiley  If mine was around he be 90 years old and probably still driving and fishing!!

Yeah my landlord is a boner! Angry  I don't think there would be a flea problem, mind you this place has lots of bugs (no roaches, thank god!)  I know I've got nerve running after a bird in a darkened basement! Cheesy

Dear Hair Dairy,

I just did a S&D and a mirco trim, bye bye split ends! Cheesy  I haven't washed since Monday and no greasy scalp which is good. I plan to wash on Saturday after my heat cap treatment.

Belly dancing went great today, I can't wait to get the DVD's I ordered, hopefull tomorrow! Smiley  Mum is going to make me a bellydancing costume.  I found a Simplicity pattern for her to use.  Mum's been sewing for over 40 years but as hubby warned me her sizing is not very good.  So I have to make sure it fits and will not rip. Tongue  The costume is a chole top and skirt, I told her she has to slit the skirt, hope she does.  The she said "oh when are you going to wear it?" I said everyother day for 1 1/2 hours! Oya vay!  Angry

Anyway time to make dinner Smiley

It means search and destroy.  I take a very sharpe little sissors and carefully cut off split ends.  I put on my glasses and hold the hair up to the light of a lamp to see the splits. Wink

Thanx for the clarification.  I would never have figured that one out.  I know we are supposed to do that...and mine is just long enough to pull it around and do it.  Maybe I should buy some good sharp scissors and try to get into the routine.

Dear Hair Diary,

I got some Amla powder this weekend and am making an homemake indian hair oil I saw on LHC. Just one word about Amla, it will, in time, make your hair darker. I think its so neat that I can go to my local east indian supermarket and get all the neat herbs and things they sell there. Cheesy  I also got some Neem soap as I am having body acne issues. Tongue Embarrassed Lips Sealed I am so happy that my clothes fit now! Cheesy  I only have 5 pounds to go! but I would like to get down to at least 140.

Today is a hot one!  I got my house work done already.  Tonight we get Mum's new car, of which we are going to be working on all week to get it ready for her, a messy job! Tongue

Bye fore now Cool

Dear Hair Dairy,

Day two of extreme heat!  I could not breathe lastnight and had to sleep on the lawn till about 3:00 am.  Thankfully the wildlife was not as plentiful as normal.  Just a fox in the trashpails, no skunks (thank god!)   I gave my hair a ACV rinse and have had it up in bun.  Whew! I cannot wait for the weather to break!

I finished off making my Alma oil receipe and hope to try it soon.  Still waiting for my bellydance videos. Cool

Bye for now! Cheesy

You slept on the lawn! Grin  I'm sorry it's really not funny, just unexpected.  I don't know, I think I was expecting you to say in another room or something.Roll Eyes  I'm still looking for houses and would love to find one with a private yard so that I could sleep outside under the stars, the idea sounds so dreamy.

Anyway, what dvd's did you order?  My favorite bellydancer Blanca who typically does compilation videos is finally coming out with her own instructional dvd in August, I can't wait. Smiley
