The current measurement of my hair from the front hairline over the top and down the back is 32 inches.

Is this a small number? My previous measurement was 29 inches. It feels like it has grown more than that but perhaps thats because a lot more of my hair strands are reaching to where they did the last time I measured.

This is certainly the longest I have had it in a long long time. I wish I could say that I am really enjoying it but I'm flustrated with it right now because it seems to want to be dreadlocks instead. Its gotten past the length where I can put it up myself.

Other people are enjoying my hair and I like that. I want to learn how to mannage it myself.  Any ideas?

Smiley Hi,
It seems you and I are in the same boat!  I'm at pretty much the same length you are and not sure what to do with it either!!lol  I find it is much more managable after I deep condition .  I'm using Ouidad and almost out Shocked too expensive,I might go to Nexxus or Biolage.  Let me know how the cider vinegar works for you, haven't tried it yet myself.....

Hi Rosa!  This is the first I noticed your journal, so I just had to visit!  Smiley

First, I want to commend you on your hard work and therapy, I've never been through it myself, I guess I'm lucky, but I have the utmost respect for those working so hard for a goal of recovery.  I send my best wishes for your continued recovery.

Secondly, congratulations on 3 inches of hairgrowth, that's wonderful!  I myself am at a stand-still with my hair as I've had no growth this month, usually I average 1/3" per month *pout*.  As for doing ACV rinses, I try to do them once a week and love them.  I just put a little in the bottom of an empty shampoo bottle and fill the rest w/ water & dump over my hair (watch out for the eyes- ouch!  Shocked)  Makes my hair feel really clean and soft, like a fresh start, I sometimes mix a little jojoba oil in with my shampoo too, or just apply a few drops to my hair as it dries.  I've never tried olive oil on my hair, I think it would be too heavy for me.

BTW- that picture with the spider *shiver*, oh, I have a MAJOR spider & spider web phobia.  They're beautiful and fascinating, but I could NEVER get as close as you did, especially to such a funky looking one!  I had a hard time just looking at the picture.  *shivers again*  Brave woman you are!

Oh yeah, nice to meet you!

Hey Rosa!  Welcome back!

Sounds like you are getting good growth - congrats.  3 inches of growth in 6 months is pretty typical.

Keep taking good care of you hair!

About the spider:

I had just managed to get up the courage to get past one spider ... that in that picture is behind me when I screamed because I saw the one in front of me!

My husband took that picture while I was 'frozen' between the two. Its one of the most terrifing things I have had happen.

I just realized that I never introduced Sara here. Maby thats because she has been with us for just about 2 months now.

This is sara:
...

My son found her while he was walking back to the appartments. Someone had put a ruber band on her tail that caused soft tissue necrosis (the skin and meat died ust leaving raw nerve, ligament and bone).

We took her in. All that could be done for the tail was to amputate it to save her.

She is very loving and always up on my lap or at my feet or side in the bed.

She watches me curiously when I take a bath. I have a picture of that, too but I'm not sharing.

and of course, she has a healthy fascination with my hair. It seems I wont be the only one making hairballs around here from now on.

Here are some of the freinds we made at the kitty hotel:
...

...

They are wonderful to visit and seem well aware that they have been rescued.

All in all there are about 9 kitties currently housed at the kitty hotel waiting for the right human to come along and take them home.

Hi Rosa!

What a pretty kitty you have! Grin  I thought that was so sweet of you to save Sara.  I wish more people would do that sort of thing.  I myself, over my almost 40 years, have saved many cats, a ferret and the bunny I have now from the street.
